I always felt so self conscious of my nose. A couple of years ago when I started looking for doctors on real self, Dr Ciardullo's reviews really stood out for me. His noses looked so natural. He was the only doctor I saw in the area online that had people bragging about their results with lots of before and after pictures. I also felt comfortable knowing he has done so many noses.

I was nervous about being operated on. Right before the surgery I was having doubts thinking: is it going to be worth it? Maybe I will miss my old nose? But as soon as I got the cast off I fell in love with it!

After the surgery I was surprised I was able to breathe through my nose. My face was so swollen I looked like a monster. My nose also looked really short in the cast but it looked better once it came off. When I got home all the blood in my nose dried and completely blocked any air from going in or out. I spent most of the next week mouth breathing which felt like hell. My tongue would get so dry during the night I could barely sleep and it was painful. Eventually I cleaned it out a bit with peroxide and that solved my problem.

Didn't need to take pain meds following the surgery. I got a nostril tuck which I think made the healing process slightly more uncomfortable. The area that was stitched was really sensitive. It hurt to laugh or smile. In fact, my face was so swollen I couldn't fully smile for more than two weeks. Also, eating and chewing was difficult for the first week. Lots of yogurt and macaroni. Bruising lasted quite a few weeks for me but I didn't mind because my nose looked so much better!

I knew going into the cast removal that my nose might look strange. It hurt a little to get it off but it was a quick process. At first it looked really short but I was still happy with it because I knew it would change as the weeks went on. By the time I got home after the cast removal my nose looked lop sided from all the swelling. I was a little scared but knew I just had to be patient. After three weeks I felt so great! It was even better than I imagined.

My nose before was a little beak-ish from the side. It really projected far out and was way out of balance for my chubby cheeks and round face. He brought my nose a little closer the my face, bought the tip up slightly so it doesn't point down when I smile, and shaved down the nose so it it doesn't look like a beak (but it isn't slope, more straight). When I got the cast off I thought I still looked like me (and almost none of my friends even noticed I got it done.) But looking back at old pictures I can see what I huge difference it made. When I look in the mirror now I feel like who I am meant to be.

One nostril was tucked in slightly different than the other. I can see the difference but it's not a big deal to me. My nose is so much better and you can't really notice it. Dr. C warned me that nostril tucks are tricky to get perfectly right and usually doesn't do them unless they're really necessary. But I wanted it done and I am still glad I did it.

Now six months later I can say the only regret I have is not doing it sooner! I knew I would look different after the surgery but I didn't realize how different I would feel. I used to be so self conscious every time I walked in to a room or took a picture. Plastic surgery isn't a cure for insecurities, but I must say I don't have the same anxiety about looks that I used to. Now I am happy being me and I feel comfortable in my own skin. Dr. C is definitely a pro and I would recommend him to anyone.
