27 Year Old Woman, 32GG Before Op and Miserable Now Around a D Cup and Best Decision of my Life - London, GB

I'd always been very unhappy with my breasts. At a 32G/GG they were heavy and pendulous, and even in my early 20s looked as if they'd sagged because of the size. I often felt physically uncomfortable, especially doing exercise, which is very important to me. Running a half marathon gave me intertrigo which was sore and unsightly and my incredibly expensive bras often felt tight. More than anything I felt extremely self-conscious and this greatly impacted me psychologically. Not a day went by when I didn't think about how unhappy they made me.

Finally, thanks to my mum, I made the decision to have the op and it's been the best thing I've ever done. Changed my life. It's true what they say about it having huge satisfaction rates afterwards. Sounds cliche but I feel like a new woman!

I'd never had an operation before or been put under general anaesthetic so was a bit nervous but had no reason to be. Dr Townley was just lovely and so reassuring. Both my mum and I both trusted him absolutely from the first time we met him at the consultation. He was kind and understanding and answered all my questions. I felt very relaxed knowing I was in safe hands.

I'd been worried about being in a lot of pain afterwards but the recovery was nowhere near as bad as I'd thought it would be. The Weymouth Street hospital staff were lovely and caring. I had a great overnight stay and really enjoyed it, despite recovering from some quite major surgery. The days that followed I was very tired and a bit sore/stiff but showered literally 48 hour after the op (with some help from my sister). Within a few days I was able to wonder up the street for coffee. And within a week I was using public transport. It was remarkable how quick it all was.

I'm now about 2 and a half months on and they look great! I love my new size and have rediscovered my love for clothes. I love getting dressed in the morning! I'm back exercising at the gym as everything feels so much easier without the extra weight. People have commented on how great I look and that I look like I've lost weight (despite them not knowing about the reduction specifically). I stand better and taller, my posture looks and feels better. I feel lighter. Hot weather is bearable and I'm loving the summer and all the clothes I can now wear that I couldn't before.

In short, it's wonderful and I am so so happy. Dr Townley is amazing and I am forever grateful to him! He really knows his stuff and I am convinced that his particular method (no drains), encouraging a slightly more active recovery etc. worked to speed up my recovery time and have me back to normal in no time! I would absolutely recommend him and this procedure!
