I originally had a bump removed by Jan Stanek in...

I originally had a bump removed by Jan Stanek in 1998, a few years later I was involved in an accident and went back to him to straighten my bridge. This was fine but I had always disliked my droppy tip and noticed it became quite bulbous after the second rhynoplasty.
Forward to 2014 living in Bristol and having the funds I decided to (after reading great reviews) to see Mr Simon Lee, BIG MISTAKE - he claims to be a revision specialist and assured me I would get the nose I wanted - even doodling a diamond tip but offered no morphs.
I was reluctant to have the bridge broken as it was just the tip i wanted shortened but he seemed confident and said breaking the bone was the only way to do it, he showed me a past case ONE past patient a primary rhynoplasty patient that convinced me to go ahead. I must point out that primary and revision rhynoplasty are completely different kettles of fish as a revision will always be harder with scar tissue etc.
I had this rhynoplasty at the Spire Hospital in Bristol - the first words i heard when i came round after anesthesia was 'should she be bleeding this much?' I opened my eyes and asked is everything alright - they denied saying anything and immediately left - this did not fill me with confidence as I previously had had 2 nose jobs and was never in this much discomfort...something was wrong and my gut feeling was right.
When the plaster was removed just over a week later my my nose looked like (and this is the first thing that came to me) Danny devitos Penguin in Batman. Now I am aware of swelling etc so this stopped me from collapsing in a heap of despair but yet the shape was totally hideous. After a few weeks yes the swelling did go down alot but then i noticed a bump on the side (my bridge had been completely straight before - remember it was just the tip i had a problem with) I mentioned my concern to Mr Lee and he all but said I was imagining it and commended himself on his great work.
I went back to him months later hoping it was swelling but the bump was still there my nose looked bent and NO diamond tip just a shapeless mass.
This time my husband accompanied me and Mr Lee completely denied that he implied that I was imagining the bump and suddenly admitted to seeing it and gave me 'pushing in' EXERCISES where I press on the bone to help flatten the raised area - this was a complete waste of time.
I went back again where he offered to give me a revision free of charge, however, he wasnt even sure he could get rid of the mass of scar tissue up my nostrils that he'd left me with, it was at this stage what little confidence I was holding on too, evaporated.
I told him I'd pass on his free revision and go with Basim Matti instead.
At this point Mr Lee mentioned that some of his patients had also gone to Mr Matti for revision.
When I first met Mr Matti I liked him instantly.
Mr Matti seemed to know exactly what I wanted - the morphs were great but he did stress as this was to be my 4th operation the results could be compromised.
I went ahead with Mr Matti when I woke up after anesthesia I was surprised at how good I felt, I even managed food - the staff at the Weymouth hospital were brilliant-I felt confident and happy.
When the cast came off just over a week later my nose looked considerably smaller, I just noticed a slight bump which Mr Matti assured me was just swelling.
I subsequently realised that the bump was still apparent on the side too (I dont blame Mr Matti for this) he offered me some tweeking where he would rasp the bone down.
This follow up procedure with 6 months ago and i am very very happy with my nose the tip and projection is perfect and fits well with my features and bone structure - although i still have a slight bump on the side still - care of Simon Lee which i'm hoping will flatten with time.
My experience with Mr Matti has been excellent considering my multiple rhynoplasties (alot of surgeons would not even consider operating on a nose that has been operatated on multiple times)
I just want to say thank you Mr Matti you are an artist and worth every penny.

Mr Matti has a very pleasant manner and is confident in his skills as a rhinoplasty revision specialist. He was very patient with me, as I was very nervous after a prior bad experience, Mr Matti put me at ease and has done everything he said he would. I would thoroughly recommend him.
