2 Week Update
It's only been 2 weeks and I already feel like I've always had these! They're getting softer and look like they're dropping slowly. I finally got the rest of the marker off tonight! I have still have some numbness under and to the side of each boob, maybe a quarter is numb- and my nipples are so sensitive! That's probably the most bothersome thing at the moment because it's constant. Petals help, the silicone ones provide more protection for me, but I still can feel through them.
I started sleeping on my side a little bit, only if nothing hurts. A body pillow really helps to create space so i'm not squishing them. I'm starting to stretch my reach slowly and can do a lot. There still a lot of things that are annoyingly difficult - washing dishes, carrying things, bending over... and sometimes I forget and try to push myself up with my arms - OUCH! But, there's improvement every day.

Looking back, the cause of 90% of my pain was due to being wrapped up in that ace bandage. Once I got it off, the improvement was drastic!
The first few days were pretty rough. I was looking forward to taking my pain medication every time I was able. The directions said every 6 hours, a few times I couldn't wait that long and had to take it an hour early. I was so bloated from the medication I looked like I was 6 months pregnant - the pressure was unbearable! The first night I went to the bathroom 4 times - I'm not sure if it was all the fluids they gave me or if I was so bloated that once I ate something it would go right through me because there was no room left in my body! Needless to say I didn't get much sleep that night. I'm a side sleeper so having to be on my back was miserable. I ended up watching Netflix movies on my phone most of the night and taking a million little naps the next day. I was hunched over, whether from the wrap being so tight or just my body trying to protect itself, but it was painful to try to stand up straight. I'm not going to lie, the first few days were painful and miserable. But there's a light at the end of the tunnel!
I got my wrap off Sunday afternoon and it was miraculous! Well.... my first look at my boobs scared me. I didn't really want to see them lol I thought they'd be all squished and look weird but they really weren't. For me it was all the drawing and the discoloration from the germicide that freaked me out. But, as soon as I got that wrap off, the improvement was drastic. I was set to take my pain meds by the time I got to the doctors but he suggested I just take Tylenol. I was hesitant but thought I would try it and save the heavy pain medication to help me get through the nights. I ended up not even needing the rest of my pain medication, and only took Tylenol a few times. (If I would have known I would have left over pain medications I would have taken them more frequently when I was in pain the first few days). By the afternoon I was already feeling so much better.
Monday morning I went back to work already. I took Tylenol in the morning to help with the drive and brought it with me just in case. Driving wasn't bad, the only thing hard things for me are getting my car into reverse (I drive manual so I have to push the shifter down and up to get into reverse) and making Y-turns, because you have to turn the wheel so much. I felt a little nauseous the first morning and thought it may have been because I had taken the nausea patch off behind my ear Sunday night when I showered, but after lunch I felt fine. Maybe I just needed some food in my stomach.
Every day I am able to do more pain-free. I had to retrain my posture - my back was so sore the first few days of sitting up straight after a weekend of hunchback slouching - but every day I am able to stand up straighter and roll my shoulders back. My one week check up went great. I no long am required to sleep elevated, but I ended up propping myself up in the middle of the night because sleeping flat got a little painful. I am dreaming of being able to sleep on my side again! I can lay on my side for a little bit, but it becomes uncomfortable still.
