WORTH IT
After breast feeding two children, my small breasts became deflated and my nipples were so stretched that they almost hung from my flat chest. I was embarrassed to change my clothes in front of my husband. I live in South Florida and there are thousands of plastic surgeons to choose from. Some of my friends had their breasts done by famous, celebrity type surgeons. A lot of them had fantastic results. But as a medical professional myself, I wasn't looking for a celebrity to operate on me, I was looking for a doctor. I wanted someone that I trusted would fix things if they went wrong. I wanted someone I trusted in an emergency situation. I wanted someone that seemed more concerned about my safety than anything else. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Charles Messa. From the moment I met him, I trusted that he understood what I wanted, knew what he was doing, and that I was safe in his hands. He knew that I wanted a natural look and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. He and his entire staff were amazing to deal with. He is pleasant, kind, and knowledgeable. He took his time with me even though his lobby was full. Before surgery we shared a few laughs and he made me feel at ease. I asked him not to go over 325cc. Thank goodness he didn't listen to me! He chose 350cc based on what he felt looked best on my body. His vision and skill are a reflection of true talent. I had many follow-up appointments with Dr. Messa to ensure I was healing correctly. Some of my friends said they saw their surgeons only one or two times after their surgery. That seems crazy to me. It is now about 8 months after my surgery and I am absolutely thrilled with my results! Thank you Dr. Messa and staff!

Congratulations! Glad to hear you're happy with your results...you look great! How was the nipple reduction? Did that take longer to heal? Thank you for sharing your story with us on RealSelf!

Thanks Beth! I was afraid the nipples reduction would be the worst part, but it didn't hurt at all! I think because breasts are typically a little numb after surgery, I didn't feel any discomfort at all. I thought I was going to have to cut holes in my sports bra for the nipples after surgery, haha. But they required minimal care and no special accomidations. Best thing I did!

That's great news about your nipple reduction. I think we all would assume the worst but glad it was smooth. Very happy for you!

Hi!

This post date from a long while ago, but I was curious knowing if the nipple surgery made them loose sensitivity? Are you able to see the scars and how did the doctor processed?

I have the same thing you have after extended breastfeeding. I already started with longer than normal nipples, but now they just drop and sag and it’s not nice at all. I feel them and I am concioys about them all the time when I don’t wear a bra. It’s embarrassing and I have very small boobs so only see that pop out... I hate them!!! They are like so long lol.

Never though about surgery but since I am thinking about breast augmentation I thought it’s a possibility.

Hi, the nipped reduction was the best thing I did! I feel that I wouldn't be nealy as happy without it. The augmentation in general gives me the freedom to wear certain tops braless and most of the time it is not noticable that I am not wearing a bra. If I had my old nipples, I would be too embarrassed to do so. It took about a year to get my sensitivity back but it was so worth it to me that I didn't care at all. Beyond glad I did it! Best of luck!

Thank you for the answer. Did he have to cut completely the nipple and stich it back, or just took out a portion of it ?

I agree that go bra less with elongated nipples is a big no no. It is really embarassing, everyone looks right there. I am shy and uncomfortable even in my own house in pyjama’s. I am always aware of them.

I guess will spend the couples k’s more when I do the breast augmentation to correct this problem :) That would be so awesome not “feeling” them all the time and just have normal nipples without everyone looking at them.
