This is long, but please read. This is your face.

It has taken me a while to write this review for a couple of reasons. I don't like to leave an unfavorable review unless it was beyond unprofessional, extremely bad customer service or left me with SCARS that haven't healed. This establishment has accomplished all three. I bought a coupon for a series three IPL's from Conejo Deals. First mistake is purchasing a "special" at a new establishment. I have had this treatment before at a dermatologist office under a professional doctors care so I know the correct response an IPL should have. Here, they are not doctors, they are estheticians working under a doctors license, who is not on the premise. They have you speak to "a doctor" on Skype stating that you are healthy. I had the first two treatments with a different "tech" each time, without a problem. However, on the third and final treatment I was left with EXTREMELY RED, SWOLLEN, BLISTERED and SCARRED SKIN. The technician applied a numbing cream to my face, but I was still in EXTREME pain from the intense heat of the laser. I kept on asking her to stop, but she would say it will be over soon. The technician said I would have some temporary redness to the area. An IPL should not have any downtime. At most, a temporary "sunburn". NOT blistering, on cheeks, chin and nose. The next morning I awoke to a swollen left eye, half closed due to the swelling of my soft tissue on my cheek and blistering on my face. I called the office and was told to come in. They whisked me into a private room, I'm sure they didn't want to "scare" the awaiting patients. They said this shouldn't have happened. The tech said "I didn't see this coming!". The manager said it was because the tech didn't have the correct hold on the laser and wasn't in full contact with my skin. Ok. They asked what I wanted, my first response was my money back. She said no problem and gave me a "free" ice pack to apply. She said she had to get the money approved and would get back to me. She also took pictures, as did I. Didn't hear back for a couple of days, when I called, she said I would have to sign a release. Releasing them of all liability. I said no. This is my face. I will not sign anything. I just wanted my $249 Conjeo Deal money back. I had to contact customer service at Conjeo Deals for them to pressure Sebita Group to handle this matter. This continued with many calls asking me to sign. Totally unprofessional, unexperienced staff. I asked why a doctor never called to see how I was doing. They never had an answer. Finally, after over 3 weeks they said, if I came into the office for them to take pictures, they would refund my money. No problem. They finally did. Now after three months, I still have existing scars on my chin. PLEASE BEWARE. They are an inexperienced, extremely unprofessional "med spa". Please do not sacrifice your face, time, or money.
