ORIGINAL POST

I had been wanting juevederm in my marionette...

i had been wanting juevederm in my marionette lines for a few months so I made an appointment with a plastic surgeon. Today was the appointment and he said he was having a special on Radiesse so I said yes. He didnt ask me any medical questions like allergies because if he had I would have told him I'm allergic to everything under the sun ! He injected two syringes up along my cheek bones and then into marionette lines. The bruising and swelling came quickly. I happened to google Radiesse and I saw all the nightmare photos and horror stories that everyone has had and now I'm soooo freaked out that this will happen to me in 5,10,15 days! Here's my photo 10 hours after.

I wouldn't worry too much; Radiesse has a 80 percent approval rating. The important think is the doctor expertise.

Radiesse takes a while for the swelling to go down. The best thing I found for the swelling was using benadryl.

The before photo and the photo 9 days after are the same. Everything is exactly the same - same few hairs sticking up, same picture at the same angle.

Never ever use this product again. It will ruin your face, your skin, and will actually make you look older. It's very unfortunate that the doctor did not explain to you everything so that you would be aware.
Please take care of yourself and never use again this horrible product and chose wisely honest PS.

I've been putting Arnicare cream on this area and taking the tablets. I'm not as freaked out as I was last night. The bruising is only in the marionette area but he did inject all the way up my checks.

Please don't panic. I am an ER nurse, but I worked for 2 years for a cosmetic surgeon. Radiesse lasts quite a long time. It is fairly thick and has a calcium component, so it takes a while to assimilate into your face. It doesnt do you any good to have all this anxiety at this point. Try to relax and heal....life is for experimentation.

Hi Carma49 ! Do you know how long Radiesse lasts in the upper cheek bone area ? Thats where I have mine . Thanks :)

I've seen it last as long as a year . I've been trying to download my photos - I had Radiesse yesterday for the first time myself. It is individual though. I wanted you all to see my psychedelic bruises.... But of you could see how dense and white it is - you'd see how it could last a fairly long time. The doc I worked with used to say 1-2 years. The patients I've seen have all ultimately been happy with it.

I had it in the cheeks and nasolabial folds too. I went in just to have Botox and juvederm and was talking to one of the nurses there about desperately wanting to get rid of my hanging jowls and she suggested the cheeks as helping to pull the hanging neck up - and I do see an improvement.

Two days after 2 syringes of Radiesse

Here is a photo two days later. I've been downing the Arnica tabs, rubbing Arnica cream on area and putting warm compresses. I can't bring myself to read the horror stories about this drug as I'm afraid I'm headed that way.

Don't worry. Sounds like you're doing all the right things. It's too bad the injector didn't explain! I just had Radiesse same places. It works better for deeper wrinkles. She added up my cheeks too to help lift out the deep wrinkles. If or me my bruising this week will be worth the year long of results.

Wow, I actually had very tiny wrinkles. When doctor saw my face he first said I don't need anything but then I of course pointed out the faint marionettes lines and he suggested Radiesse cause he was having a special.
