Thanks everyone for answering my question. I went back to my surgeon and sure enough he informed me that I may indeed have developed an umbilical hernia or possibly fluid collection around my belly button. He ordered a CT Scan. I've since had the scan and it came back positive for the dreaded Umbilical Hernia! Although it is a minor hernia, it is still a hernia can will get worse if left untreated, and since I have a very physical job I risk the chance of making the hernia worse. I have surgery scheduled for the end of this month and after a 2-3 week of light duties and not lifting, I can resume exercising. I am afraid of gaining weight during this recoup time and hinder the progress I am making with the liposuction. I'd hate for all this money I've spent to go to waste. I will keep you posted. Wish me luck!

Protruding Belly Button

I had laser lipo of my upper and lower abdomen and flanks on May 24, 2017 and all went well. But as of today, I have a golf sized swelling around my belly button that is protruding and looks horrible. I have no pain or discomfort but at 2 months I was expecting more results. My pubic area is a little jiggly but the doctor's office assured me that that is going to happen due to fluids during the healing process. My lower ab looks good but the upper and belly button area is still very swollen and lumpy and makes my waist look disproportioned. I wear a compression garment almost all the time, I drink a lot of water and do light cardio. I've also modified my diet. I've spoken with nurses at my doctor's office and was assured that the swelling is normal. I have my 3 month post op on August 30 and hopefully I am not panicking for no reason. HELP!

I'm entering my 6th week since have laser...

I'm entering my 6th week since have laser liposuction of my upper and lower abs and flanks, and although I am seeing very nice results so far, I am concerned with the golf ball sized swelling I have around my belly button.
I had minimal bruising and only need 2 of my 30 Vicodin. I have been wearing my compression garment for almost 20 hours per day(I started off with a LG, a week later I was in a SM, then an XS and as of 2 weeks ago I'm in a 2XS). My flanks are almost gone and my lower abs are looking great, although I do have an accumulation of fluid around my pubic area and some swelling on my feet. I have been drinking a lot of water, I use a spin bike a couple of times a week and I walk every chance I get. I receive lymphatic massages 2X a week and do my own self massage at home every night. I've also modified my diet and stopped using sugar in my coffee.
The swelling around my belly button is quite protruding and my upper abs are still swollen and lumpy. I understand that it's been less than 2 months, but I wasn't expecting the protruding belly button. I am experiencing no pain or discomfort so I don't believe there is an infection or anything like that, but I am worried. I've spoken with the facility and was assured that this is normal and should subside within the next few weeks. I am keeping my fingers crossed. My 3 month checkup in at the end of August.
Is anyone out there experiencing anything similar? Any assurances for me? Please share.
Thank you.

I've met him once before the procedure and on the day of the procedure. He called the day after the procedure to check up on me, but since then I have been seeing qualified members of his staff. They are all very professional and easy to communicate with. I have always received return calls when I leave messages.
