Healing nicely

Thought I would post an update as its been just about two and a half months after surgery. I'm so glad I got it done, I keep saying that in each update but I truly am so happy I'm now in the healing process. My tip is still hard to the touch and swollen but I am noticing changes as time goes on, I'm very excited to see how it will look at the year mark.

When I look at myself in the mirror now I almost forget how my old nose looked but when I look through pictures I'm reminded of how much better I like my new nose. I attached a picture from the same angle where you can truly tell the difference.

I'm going back to Dr. Joseph in a few weeks for a checkup.

More after pictures :)

Here are some pics I took this week, hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day! :)

What a difference! :)

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last update!

My last update was the day before splint removal so I'll start there. The splint/stitches removal went very smoothly. Dr. Joseph gently removed them, so much so, that I didn't feel anything! Once the stitches were removed he cleaned up my nose a bit and I saw it for the first time... and WOW was I happy! Yes, it was swollen, and peeling a bit, (I have very oily skin around my nose) but there was such a difference from my " before" nose and I had minimal bruising! No more droopiness, no bump, and it looked so natural! Before leaving Dr. Joseph's office I was given a complimentary mineral makeup set which included some great products to help cover up bruising! They even matched up my skin tone to the right foundation! This was such a nice touch and just another way Dr. Joseph and his staff have exceeded my expectations. My next appointment was made for a month later for my 6 week check up.

The healing process takes patience but I have noticed slight changes every day. My smile is almost back to normal. Q-tips have become my best friend and I still use them to clean the inside of my nose. My nose tip is still very swollen and hard to the touch but I know this will take a long time to heal completely. That is really the only negative aspect for me personally as my nose tip seems to have uneven swelling on one side near my nostril. But it's not like that can be controlled, I can only wait and let nature do its thing. Dr. Joseph said it should be unnoticeable once all the swelling goes down, which I look forward to. :)

Throughout this whole process I did wonder how other people would react to my new nose, I figured it was a huge change and very noticeable. I chose to only tell my immediate family, no one else knew I was getting it done. Now for me, It is a HUGE change but I've found that it's not really noticeable to other people! NONE of my coworkers noticed and only one friend asked "what is different about you?". The results are so natural, the incision "scars" are not really scars at all as they are healing beautifully and almost completely gone. This whole process has been so much easier than I expected, I've had no pain whatsoever!

Last week at my 6 week check up, Dr. Joseph examined my nose and took my "after" pictures. I still cant believe the difference from before surgery. My nose looks so much better and while I still have a long way to go, I'm really happy I went ahead and got this done, I have no regrets! I'll post some pictures so you can see the difference!

I promise to update more frequently, and I'll add some better "after" pictures! Happy healing everyone! :)

Dr. Joseph is a wonderful and talented surgeon. His experience, credentials, and patient's reviews on this website speak for themselves but after my consultation it was very easy to see that rhinoplasty is his passion, he enjoys his work and it shows. Dr. Joseph is very intelligent, genuine, and truly cares about his patients. Every step of the way, Dr. Joseph and his staff answered any and all questions and concerns. Every person I've encountered throughout this process has had a very high opinion of him, not just patients but his peers as well. The nurses and staff at the surgical facility all raved about him. Even my dermatologist in Clifton knows of him, and said he is a great doctor. After being his patient I can confirm that all the praise and respect are well deserved! I'm so happy that I chose Dr. Joseph for my rhinoplasty. My results are great and so natural! I would recommend him to anyone thinking about rhinoplasty, even if you're unsure or scared like I was initially.
