5 Weeks Post-op

Feeling better. Getting ready to go back to work. I get very sore and a bit swollen by the end of the day. I'm wearing the binder because it gives me more support. Left side more swollen than the other side.

4 Weeks Post-Op

I get to wear spanx from now on! Woo hoo! The binder was bothering me. I had to go to a training today and sat for most of the day. It was a little uncomfortable. Going to the bathroom was difficult because my spanx doesn't have a hole and I have to take it down to use the bathroom. My sides hurt when I pull it down. I'm still swollen on both sides. Every day gets better.

3 Weeks Post-Op

I went to see Dr. Hughes yesterday. He said I'm healing well and that I don't go back until 3 months from now. Woo hoo! I finally had my drain removed. It never turned yellow but stayed a lighter shade of the dark old blood color. I asked if that was a problem and he said that I wasn't retaining any fluid and that it was probably just my body. I was really scared about having the drain taken out because that area is really sore. I even asked him to give me local anesthesia! He said that pulling the drain would hurt but the anesthesia needle would hurt more. Sandra, my nurse was so amazing at making me feel comfortable and calmed me about what she was going to do. She told me to take a deep breath and she pulled that thing out! NO PAIN!!!! Yay, Sandra! It felt like a worm was sliding across my new tummy. I need to continue wearing the binder until week 6 and then I am supposed to wear spandex. Some new pictures. I'm trying to wear the same old underwear so I can see my own progress.
