Dr. Emer Gave Me my Life and Skin Back

I had Fraxel Repair done here in New York in January of 2017 and unfortunately was left with bad results. I had orange peel texture all over my face, more lines than I started with and pigmentation issues. The left side of my face had what looked like a tic tac toe board. I spent almost a year in virtual hiding, had anxiety issues and depression. I started reading here on RealSelf and read nothing but great things about Dr. Emer. I contacted the office, sent photos and had my phone consultation with Dr. Emer. I had hope! I made all my plans to fly out to Hollywood to see him. I had to do the Cosmelan mask with the help of Candace by phone. I drove them crazy and they were nothing but kind and reassuring. I had reservations about going because Dr. Emer is in Hollywood after all and I am simply a retired school teacher from a small town in the Hudson Valley. My reservations were totally unfounded. I arrived in CA. just about 7 weeks ago and felt like I had come home. Everyone is so warm and kind. Actually Dr. Emer gave me a hug, chatted with me and we were good to start. While there over a course of two days I had: sculpture, thermage, fractora, micro needling with PRP , and erbium laser.

My results; the orange peel look is gone, the tic tac toe board on my left cheek is gone, hyper pigmentation is improved and overall clarity of my skin is improved. He let me know that everything couldn't be accomplished in one visit. I am following up at home with the plan he laid out for me and the wonderful skin care routine Candace put together for me. Everything is looking up, I am no longer a hermit and feel much better about my skin, thanks to Dr. Emer and his wonderful staff. My only regret is that I don't live there because they would get sick of seeing me.

Hi everyone. It’s been awhile, I wanted to update. I am about 9 weeks out from fully ablative Co2. I have seen a lot of improvement but unfortunately there is still work to be done. I have learned that energy devices are fabulous IN THE RIGHT HANDS!!! They are horrendous in the wrong hands. Your face can be destroyed as mine was but there is hope for improvement. I have had countless treatments by wonderful providers, not for anti aging but to try to correct the horrific damage Dr Rubinstein caused. Some things can’t be fixed like all the hypopigmentation he caused. I have seen improvement in the orange peel skin he caused and the terrible wrinkling around mouth and chin he caused. I will continue to work on these areas but I’m not sure they can ever be 100% corrected.When a doctor causes damage to your face and blames it on your healing ability or tells you the laser can’t cause that damage, don’t believe him he is simply covering his a**. I know this because everyone I have seen has verified it was laser damage and I have exceptional healing ability. If you have been damaged do not give up hope! See someone who really knows what they are doing. I have spent a fortune trying to correct this damage so I could have my life back. Something needs to be done, these Drs using these energy devices that don’t have a clue what they’re doing need to be held accountable and there needs to be stricter laws concerning training. Don’t give up hope but choose your Dr wisely.
