March 7th big day!

March 7th came and went here is what I experienced:

Got to the surgery center on time as soon as I walked in (6am) I was filling out papers, turned in signed docs gave my husband a good bye kiss. Next thing I know I was in a hospital gown and Dr. Bruno was taking pics and marking me up. Then the anesthesiologist (asian lady) came by we talk about my health followed her to THE ROOM! I will say the anesthesiologist was very comforting, upbeat, nice, understanding....she's good at what she does. She stuck the needle in I was out (last thing I remember saying was "I'm awesome, which I am) I wake up in a bit of pain nurse came by gave some pain medication that made the pain go away right away. Nurse was nice the whole time. Another thing when I woke up, there was a doctor there (not Dr. Bruno) talking so loud on his cell about a patient he had a surgery on and that the patient is suing him, the words coming out of his mouth were not nice when he was referring to his patient (I'm just glad he was not my Doc) - I did mentioned to the nurse that the doctor was a bit loud to which she replied "he's one of the bosses"....I just stood quiet but now I will say he was unprofessional here I am just waking up from plastic surgery and all I hear is someone talking loud and saying nasty stuff about a patient. No matter who you are have consideration for the recovering patients!
Anyway, my husband was there to pick me on time. The 40 minute ride home was uneventful (I do not remember a thing asleep the whole time). We got home, he helped me to the recliner slept a bit more. Then my sister got to my house around 7ish, she stood with me the whole weekend which I appreciate so much (she's always been there for me) she helped with my kids, cooked, clean, everything I normally do she took over.

Okay, now as to the pain I did not feel any that I could not handle. I made sure I was on top of the meds - ladies make sure you take your meds on time, even better take them 30 minutes before, this helps a great deal. I have a very low pain tolerance.
When I went to the next day appointment, the nurse took the binder off I was like WOW the room was spinning spinning all of a sudden I started seeing black the nurse quickly gave me something to smell which helped. My sister said I got so white she could see my lips (this the worse it got for me as to this whole surgery)

1st week of recovery:
Again pain was pretty non existent (pain meds did their job).
Discomfort due to being hunch over and having the drains. Also, not showering was uncomfortable.

Recommendations for 1st week of recovery:
Get a walker, this thing was my best friend, but I have to give her back to my mom :) - I walk and walk (well it seem like I walked alot but I doubt it)

Take take take your pain meds they are wonderful!

LET OTHERS HELP YOU - I am in charge of my house but for a few days I had to let go...oh well the house is dirty, the dishes are in the sink oh well let it go!

2nd week of recovery:

Drains are out, i was able to shower which is the best. Still walking hunch over.

Was able to start driving, do some laundry, clean a little (very little), still walking slow.

Everything was getting better and better by the day....I will not lie some days were and are very draining and will take a toll on your body (you just have to sit back and rest).

No longer taking strong pain meds, just Tylenol....those prescribed pain meds are no joke had me out of it.

Took two weeks off work, on 2nd week started mentally preparing myself to go back (figured the sooner I get back to work the better for me).

Recommendations for week 2:
Take it easy, you are still healing.
Be patient there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
The worse is behind you :)

I'm back to work, first day back was draining I was not able to sleep well got up at 1:40 am and did not go back to sleep. I was walking slow around the office but I made it (so proud of myself). Luckily I have a desk job, I pretty much sat all day explained to my supervisor I was still healing (he totally understood). After work home made dinner took some Tylenol knocked out til this morning. Today I am feeling so much better standing a little straighter, walking a bit faster (told you, the sooner you get back to your normal routine the better for you).

Thus far, my overall experience is not over. I will say this, Dr. Bruno (thank you for calling me after surgery to see how I'm doing and for the fruit basket you didn't have to, but you went above and beyond your duties), HIS office staff were and have been nothing but professionals and I can't speak HIGHLY enough about how great they are taking care of their patients and just being there no question or concern is to small for them to assist you in...I made the best choice with having Dr Bruno perform my tummy tuck surgery and lipo. I will definitively be going back to him for other services and be recommending him to my family, friends and acquaintances.

& the winner is??

Yesterday I booked my procedure for tummy tuck and lipo on the flanks with Dr. Bruno. I honestly feel a little at ease, I had been to about 6 to 7 consultations Dr. Bruno being my last consultation. Trust me ladies once you find the right PS you will know it. I know I made the right choice with Dr. Bruno

Okay today (November 2, 2013) I had a consultation...

Okay today (November 2, 2013) I had a consultation with Dr. Bruno and I have to say I like what I came across from the receptionist to the Dr to the patient care coordinator. As soon as I walked into the office the receptionist was great greeting me offering me something to drink or something to snack on very attentive. Dr. Bruno was nice, informative, polite, attentive. Answer all my questions, explain the procedure. He also explained the recovery time and what to expect. The care coordinator was polite and she explain to me the cost. Over all, Dr Bruno and staff has been one of the more attentive offices I had visited for consultation, they pay attention to detail they really do! That goes a long way in my book.....I will make my decision this Monday when Marisol calls me.
