So... I found Dr. Dadvand online by reading...
So... I found Dr. Dadvand online by reading reviews similar to the one I’m writing now. I suffered from mild/moderate gynecomastia since I was 15 & I’m now 28. Some of my best years like high school & college were spent concealing the physical shame from everyone. For those whom can relate, you know what I’m talking about. I knew all tricks of how to temporarily hide it, like cold showers, physical stimulation, tank tops under shirts, etc. There was even a point after high school, when I lost about 30#s (mostly fat) & was 5'9 165, & in the best shape of my life, & my nipples still looked puffy. Upon researching, I determined it wouldn't matter how skinny I’d get, because I had an above average amount of glandular breast tissue. From then to now, I knew excision with a scalpel was mandatory to achieve a normal looking chest. What has always been my main obstacle was finding a way to fund the surgery. Believe me when I say that I would have done this years & years ago if I had any way to come up with the dough. It’s taken me the past 3 years to save up the $ & I finally decided to pull the trigger. I spent an ample amount of time researching all the top specialists in the Los Angeles area. After a lot of internet research, I narrowed it down to three. I set up consults with all, & after, I decided Dr. Dadvand was my top choice. In terms of price, he was middle of the road. Not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive, & that's what I was looking for. The best bang for my buck, a competent Dr. who could get the job done without gouging me in $ & profit, because I find in life the saying, "You get what you pay for" is typically correct. Case in point, MEXICO! Anyways, my main reasons for choosing Dr. Dadvand were the volume of gynecomastia surgeries performed (library of good before & after photos), his demeanor & personality (super laid back & chill), & lastly & most importantly to me, his dual accreditation in both cosmetic/plastic surgery & general surgery. Having never been sedated before, this calmed a lot of my nerves, knowing that if anything went sideways while under anesthesia, as Allstate says, "I was in good hands" having an actual hospital surgeon on board. So I committed, waited a couple weeks, fasted the night before, & went in the am to his office in Hollywood. A brief final consult, introduction to the anesthesiologist & operating staff, & lights out! I was under for a couple hrs. Word is the time under varies depending on severity of your case. I woke up without a hitch; vaguely remember details being all foggy & whatnot. They wheeled me into my girlfriend’s car & she drove me home. First night sucks. You have drainage tubes inserted under your skin that lay over your pecs, inserted thru your armpits that are connected to, best way to describe, a mini turkey baster bottle. Theory is, create suction thru pressure, which slowly (over days) pulls the fluid out of your body, thru the lines, & into the bottle. Helps speed up the recovery process & avoid pockets of fluid buildup. The day after a routine post op consult. After 3-5 days depending on case by case & your ability to heal, your body is able to absorb the remaining fluid. Btw, these 3-5 days is summed up in one word, uncomfortable. The saving grace thou is that every day after the surgery, feels exponentially better & you feel more capable to complete simple everyday tasks. Showers aren't allowed, so your only option is sponge bath. Also you have to wear a compression vest for the first month after the surgery, which believe it or not isn’t that uncomfortable. The Dr. was kind enough to meet me on a Saturday when his office is typically closed, to remove the drains which I appreciated greatly. Immediately after you feel amazing, liberation of mobility compared to days prior. Next post op, a week after surgery date. It is during this consult the Dr. removes the foam pads & tape & you actually get to see the results for the first time. You have to keep in mind; you are still pretty swollen & can't expect perfection overnight, so to speak. What I noticed in my case was a drastic difference in the flatness & contour of my chest, as well as a noticeable difference in the size, color, & shape of my areolas. Soreness slowly dissipates over time, & routine WALKING around the neighborhood for exercise helps in many ways. Today, Sept. 2nd, 2014 marks exactly 3 weeks since my surgery. Final Thoughts: At 3 Weeks, I'm Still Healing. The Dr. Told Me It Can Take Anywhere From 2-5 Months Depending Case By Case Before You Really Can Judge A Final Outcome. If I Was To Put A % On My Satisfaction With The Cosmetic Appearence Alone Before & After, It Would Be 95%. I'm Hoping It Will Be 100% When All Is Said & Done. If I Was To Put A % On The Comprehensive Treatment/Customer Service I Received, It Would Be 100%. Overall I Highly Recomend Dr. Dadvand For This Surgery, & Am Sincerely Happy With What I See. I Chose Go Into Great Depth In My Review Solely Because I Know How Important Of A Decision This Was For Me & How Important Reviews By Actual Patients Can Be To Those Who Just Want To Find A Doctor That Can Get It Right The First Time. Really Word Of Mouth By Strangers Online Is What Led Me To Him In The First Place. So Take Comfort & Find Peace Of Mind Knowing That If A Perfectionist Like Me Is This Satisifed At 3 Weeks, Dudes Got Skill. Take Care & Try To Remember Sometimes Life Is A Somewhat Blind Leap Of Faith.
