Have chickened out so many times, but this time consultation complete and waiting for insurance to approve. Doctor told me it would be 2-4 weeks for decision. Told me I was a very good candidate for a reduction as I meet all the criteria for surgery. I am a caregiver for the elderly and he recommends I take at least two weeks off after surgery.

I was a caregiver before, and if you have to lift at all, such a lifting or pushing a wheelchair, two weeks may be too soon.

Welcome to the community.  Two weeks off work is great, but not to go back full swing with lifting.  You really need to be light duty for the first 6 weeks post op.

I am excited for you and hope that your approval comes through quickly.  You will feel so much better once this is done.

My biggest concern is I also take care of my mom too.

I totally agree with kimmers25. I had br 1 month ago and I am surprised at the reduced energy. My ps said basically don't do anything including driving for 3 weeks. Lifting and overhead is do-able now but still uncomfortable,
