Implant Removal After Bad Contracture - Wellesley, MA

Dr. Shektman removed my implants and I think he did a great job. In 2011 I got silicone unders and enjoyed my implants until I had my second child in 2013 and noticed that my right breast was no longer as soft after trying to breast feed. After my third child in 2014 the contracture on my right worsened significantly and my right breast started to fee like I had an apple inside. It was uncomfortable to lay on my stomach and I knew it was time to research removal of them. Still ot this day I feel that the pregnancies, the hormonal changes and the breast feeding caused my contracture. When I saw Dr. Shektman he immediately told me it was a grade 4. I was so sad to have to remove them. The surgery was performed in his private practice, it is clean and professional and I didn't have any reservations. I had general anethesia and my recovery wasn't bad at all. I was aced up for about two days and was sore for about four days. After a week I felt okay to move around. What I do remember is that my right breast was tender for a while, especially on the right side and I would have sudden bouts of pain for months. I'm finally not feeling that pain any more (10 months later) Dr. Shektman told me he left the scar tissue and that it would shrink over time. What I'm very pleased with is that I have no new scars, he opened my original ones (under breasts) and they have healed well. I'm saving up for a tummy tuck and breast lift and I'm seriously considering going back to him for sure. Great doctor.
