My surgery is in 17 days! I'm so excited I can...
I'm very active and more fit than I have been in my entire life. I feel more like I'm 21 than 51 :), however; I have no desire to look like I'm 21. I just want the fullness in my breast restored. I don't want to look like I have a couple of tennis balls stuffed into gym sox hanging from my chest. I am engaged to an amazing man that I have been with for almost 8 years and he has rarely seen me topless :(
I met with my PS a little over a month ago and decided to go with Sientra, Silicone, Textured, Implants. He says that my frame can accommodate a 500 + implant and that he will bring a few different sizes into the operating room with him to try, and then decide which one suits me best. Based on his experience, I trust that he will make the right choice.
This was a joint decision between my fiancé and I and I'm not concerned at all what anyone will think of me based on my decision to go forward with this surgery, I did feel it was necessary to tell the people in my life that mean the most to me. I told my kids, I have 3 boys (all adult men), and one 22 year old daughter.... All of them were extremely supportive! I only got one "YUK!!" That was from my youngest son. He's 25 years old, married, with an infant daughter. The YUK, was quickly followed up by a very sweet text about how proud he is to call me his mom.... Made me cry.
So here I go!!!!! Onto the next chapter in my life! Wish me luck please.

Dr. Shektamans entire staff was extremely warm, welcoming, confident and very professional! I went in feeling a little anxious and nervous.... (its surgery)! From start to finish they were wonderful! The only name I can remember is Diane's, his Patient / Coordinator. She was awesome! My daughter was with me and Diane was great at communicating all of my post surgical needs to her. She gave her directions to the nearest drug store and gave her some ideas for things to do in the area while I was in surgery. My appointment was at 9:30 am. I got into surgery around 10 and I was at home (we live about 45 minutes from the office) resting comfortably on my couch by 1. I highly recommend Dr. Shektaman to anyone in the considering a cosmetic procedure.
