2 weeks post tummy tuck + lipo - I am so excited to see better and better results

UPDATED FROM socalkgal

1 month post-op

Since my initial review was so brief (still recovering and just not in a state of my mind to go into detail), I thought I'd share a little more after 2 more weeks of post-ops. I'm going to say it again. I am SO glad that I decided to re-visit Dr. Barrett for my final "makeover" and I'm wishing I had just come here from the beginning... at least for now lol! Again, nothing against the previous surgeon I used but the overall vibe I get from Dr. Barrett AND his staff has made my recovery that much easier. I forgot to mention they even sent me flowers! I'm not even one to get excited about flowers but getting those beautiful flowers during the worst part of my recovery just really made my day and brightened my mood as I was in a major stage of "I shouldn't have done this" due to feeling miserable and being hunched over with the worst back pain of my life.

As for results, I'm hoping to get some better pictures from the office after my final post-op at around week 6 but if not, I'll be posting my phone's before/after. It's definitely still to early to see what my final results will look like due to still being swollen and what seems to be a minor seroma but I'm definitely pleased with the amount of skin/fat he was able to remove. I was told that I don't have enough skin so I may end up with a vertical incision with a few other surgeons but definitely no vertical incision here! And so far, nothing looks funny and for the most part, all I see is a flat taut tummy that I've NEVER had in my life no matter how many planks/crunches I did and how much weight I lost. For the seroma, I was pretty nervous from reading a bunch of other people's experience with it but so far I'm feeling comfortable with the way it's being handled. I think the horror stories I've read were mainly from people who traveled for their procedures/people who didn't follow-up with their doctors so I definitely made sure to raise the issue right away when I noticed the signs. Since then, Dr. Barrett has drained the area twice (once a week) and reassured me it's not a huge issue provided it doesn't get infected which he's been instructing me on what signs to look for. From the surface, it doesn't look like it's affecting my results so I'm happy about that and just *crossing fingers* it resolves before my next appointment in a week.

Which brings me to the staff at Dr. Barrett's. I didn't know what I didn't know until I experienced the level of service in this office if that makes sense. (Plus, the girls are the sweetest here). I realize now how seriously understaffed my prior surgeon was and it reflected in how long I was made to wait with each appointment. Honestly, I don't know how he fits everything in a day from consults, surgeries, post-ops to all the social media content he puts out lol! BUT I can say that I've always been in and out of my appointments in under an hour. Every person on his staff has a role and you can clearly see how this facilitates him being able to attend to patient's needs efficiently without making anybody feel rushed. At least this is what I gather from my experience so far. It might not seem like much but trust me, after going through a pretty major surgery, it matters that you feel like you matter to that doctor and you're not just another bragging point. It definitely IS a major recovery that's happening internally despite all the reviews/blogs that make it seem like you'll be up and back to normal within weeks and you have to go to these post-ops and dreading them is the last thing you want.

Hello would it be ok to ask how much it cost. ? I’m thinking of getting a tummy tuck with him but I want to know if it would be in a price range I can afford before paying the $500 consultation.
Could you post some pictures if you are comfortable to do so? I have been told I also do not have enough skin for tummy tuck. Thanks.

2 Weeks Post Tummy Tuck + Lipo

Just reached my 2 week mark post tummy tuck with Dr. Barrett and I am so excited to see better and better results. Definitely still swelling throughout the day but the results I see when I first wake up are pretty amazing as of now. If you've read my other reviews, I had a plan to get the "mommy makeover" done and there's a specific reason why I decided to go with Dr. Barrett for part 2 of my journey. Needless to say, I'm hoping to share more in the coming weeks as my body starts to "settle in" to the healing process to help anyone else that might be on the fence between the 2 doctors I had my procedures with. Stay tuned!
