I had been planning to have this procedure for almost a year and had 3 consultations before choosing Dr. Jeffery Wise. All three surgeons were double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and American Board of Otolaryngology. All three surgeons were eminently qualified and had excelled reviews on Rea Self. I live in NYC and one of the 3 surgeons was also located in NYC (would have been much more convenient). Here are some of the reasons I made one of the best decisions of my life in choosing Dr. Wise:
1. His consultation included taking and viewing 3D pictures and Dr. Wise showing me what I could reasonably expect as a result of the surgery. He 100% delivered.
2. The consultation with Dr. Wise and Patient Care Coordinator, Diane, did not feel rushed and although I realize that this is his business, he seemed excited that he would be able to deliver transformative results. He delivered transformative results and Diane is an excellent representative of the practice.
3. The night before the surgery he called me from his cell phone to check in and tell me again that he was looking forward to the surgery. Great touch.
4. Day of the surgery I was equally nervous and excited - not at all scared. Surgical tech Dawn was professional and lovely while giving me my cocktail of meds. She made me completely at ease.
5. As promised by Diane and Dr. Wise, I did not feel a single thing during the surgery (although I was in theory, awake).
6. Dr. Wise should moonlight as a haute couture tailor because his stitching is impeccable.
7. I only took Hydrocodone until 4am Saturday (surgery was on the previous Thursday. Afterwards, only extra strength Tylenol as needed.
8. 1st post op the bandages and drains remained and were removed in 2nd post op visit on Monday - 5th post op day.
9. 3rd post op visit was on the 7th post op day when stitches in front of my face and under my chin were removed
10. 4th post op visit was on the 11th post op day. Remaining stitches that did not dissolve behind my ears and on back of my neck were removed. I received a 15 min laser light treatment (included with the cost of the surgery) and it was very relaxing. Nice value added,
11. My healing is really miraculous to me - so damn quick. Swelling is still there as is the crazy numbness - but I am confident that it will mostly resolve in a month or so.
12. If you are hesitating in choosing Dr. Wise - don't. Just don't. He is so very talented and the process was truly smooth.
Wishing everyone here a wonderful Thanksgiving! and please be kind with any comments :) - I will do my best to answer your questions

Wow, you have done an amazing job losing all that weight! Congratulations again. I, too, had a face/neck lift 10 day ago. I'm 45 years old.
Are back work (if you work) yet? I have to go back next week, on Tuesday...

Thanks again! I am returning to work on Monday. A lot of people at work know I had the procedure so I expect a fair share of oogling. How are you feeling? You look great too!

I'm feeling alright, thanks. But I still feel too swollen and stiff :-( I hope it gets better by Tuesday. I told no one (just my husband).

Hello! How was your 1st day back to work? Did you work full time? How was your swelling? Did it get worse by the end of the day? Did your co-workers comment on it? Too many questions, huh :-)
I go back tomorrow!!

I did work a full day yesterday, but I also get to work 2 days a week at home - as do all of my co-workers. I told a whole bunch of people at work and 3 of them were there yesterday - all wonderful feedback. For those who I didn't tell - they didn't comment - I honestly doubt that anyone would guess what I had done specifically. In fact, I was walking my dog the other day and a neighbor said, "you look great! did you cut your hair?" LOL. I did not notice any swelling at the end of the day, but I also sit behind a computer all day - not exactly digging ditches ;)

That's great! I'm glad you have flexibility to work from home. I do office work too so nothing heavy or physical demanding.
Today was my first day back to work and I did alright, I think :-)
I did feel very swollen but I guess that's normal.
Also is great that you have supporting co-workers. Everything Is so much easier that way!

I told quite a few people at work about my surgery and saw some of them this week (we have a flexible work from home schedule so I will be seeing people gradually). One neighbor asked if I got my haircut - LOL.
