Dr. Wise is the Man!

As someone who was losing his hair loss at a young age (I'm 24), it killed my confidence. I finally decided to look into hair transplants, but I wanted to go to someone close by. When I found Dr. Wise, I immediately scheduled a consultation. I met with him and Jenna (the patient care coordinator) and they were both very accommodating. I brought a big list of questions to ask Dr. Wise and he answered everything honestly. He suggested 1500 grafts with a PRP treatment, and the price was better than I expected.

I was a little nervous the day of my surgery, but Dr. Wise and his staff made me feel very comfortable. I was dropped off early in the morning and they shaved my head prior to surgery. The surgery was pretty painless. The only thing that hurt slightly was when they were harvesting the grafts from the back of my head. It felt like I was being pinched, but it wasn't unbearable at all. I slept through most of the surgery.

The day after surgery, I went back for a followup. I saw Dr. Wise once every week for 4 weeks for a low level light therapy session (this is included with the surgery). The low level light therapy is supposed to help the new hairs to grow.

Dr. Wise will give you ice packs to deal with swelling (and your head will swell up after a few days) as well as a saline spray that you should use every hour or so on the transplanted area. Some nights early on were tough because I felt the hair growing on my head which felt very itchy and made it hard to sleep. Eventually the scabs and hair that was transplanted will fall out. This is normal so don't worry. After that, you might not see any action for a few months. Around 3-4 months your new hair will start to come in. I saw the most growth at 4-6 months.

I'm currently 6 and a half months out, and Dr. Wise says I've had about 70% of my growth. I'm looking forward to the rest of my hair coming in. If you're someone considering a hair transplant, and are considering Dr. Wise, you should definitely go for it.
