WORTH IT
Better late than never. Ive since gotten myself a fancy new tattoo. Birthmark near my belly button still there.
The fat cells are definitely gone. I’m not as diligent as I should be with my diet so I still fluctuate some but I you can definitely count me as a satisfied customer.
The “after” is 1yr post.

Water Assisted Liposuction with BodyTite
If you're undecided about liposuction, read this!
I've always loved my body and I derive a lot of positive energy from feeling good "in my skin". As the waistline grew, I felt like I was loosing a bit of control over myself. Ok, ok I know, another post for another day... Onto the juicy stuff! I'll try to post photos ASAP!!
I'm a lucky and proud 5'3" at 50kg with a slim athletic build. As I inched past 30, my belly grew out of 2 jean sizes in a year. As an avid marathoner (15 and counting!) I added more resistance training to the routine but nothing help me drop the growing waistline, genes I guess. I decided it's time to do something. Enter lipo!
The Procedure
I must note here that I chose liposuction as a contouring solution; I am not after weight-loss. I settled on two treatments back to back: (1) water-assisted liposuction (Body-Jet) followed by (2) BodyTite for optimal results and milder recovery. I had treated my tummy, flanks, upper abdominen and a tiny bit of shoulder fat that's been there my whole life. Surgery lasted a little over 4 hours, the surgeon first performed water lipo and then used BodyTite over all the treated areas. I was under general anesthesia and after a whoozy hour post-op, was feeling sore but in great spirits. 800ml of fat was removed; that's not much but for my size and expectitions, exactly the right amount I believe. I have two sutures in my belly button and two on my back, closed, no-draining (I'll elaborate below).
The Recovery
Day 1: Soreness 9/10, numbness 9/10, swelling 9/10
I spent the night in the recovery suite so I could have a team look over me for the first night. The remote controlled bed and nurse button helped so much, sitting up was basically impossible and peeing was pretty funny. I was sore and numb at the same time, it's a weird feeling. They tell you to walk a bit after surgery so I did that and boy oh boy what a surprise I got! About 10 minutes into my 3rd walk, my pelvis and thighs began to swell. Boy, I looked 20 weeks pregnant and couldn't even see my vagina! I got so scared I ran the nurse's bell like crazy. They put me in a different compression garment, which helped control the swelling (a bit) but didn't make much difference to be honest.
Day 2-3: Soreness 7/10, numbness 7/10, swelling 7/10
By day 3 the swelling around my pelvis and thighs reduced quite a bit, bruising came in. I went in to the clinic to have a check up. I questioned the doc on his no-drainage choice and felt recomforted by his explanation. He said if I had developed any seromas, he would be ready to drain during this follow-up but none was needed. I was healing very nicely.
Day 4-5: Soreness 7/10, numbness 7/10, swelling 4/10
Wow! Day by day, every morning I would wake up to the surprise of reduced swelling! Perhaps I was just traumatized by the insaneness of the first night but everything started to look normal, kinda. Ok, I still looked bloated. Also started showering again, haha!
Week 1: Soreness 5/10, numbness 7/19, swelling 3/10
I went in to have the stitches on my belly removed, the back stiches need another few days. Doc says the numbness and soreness will need about a month to start seeing improvement. The swelling is dramatically down.
Day 10: Soreness 2/10, numbness 5/10, swelling 1(?)/10
I am now 10 days post-op and feeling great! Wearing my compression 20-22hrs a day. I started doing 1-1.5 hour of fast walking a day, but please note I'm a runner so please ask your doctor regarding exercise!! I feel some lumps and pea-sized bumps, that's normal and should soon go away according to the doctor. The swelling, in my opinion, is now completely gone however it seems that there still is swelling and things will keep going down (well, yay for me!). I started to itch and tingle in the numb areas, that's a good sign according to my Googling but will ask my doc in 3 days.
More updates and my before & after photos to come!!

Finally uploaded photos :P
Thank you for the detailed review.
i should add a small disclaimer about my after photo: I’m really super active so I suspect the muscles were always “there” underneath the fat. I also maintained a very religious 2-3x a week gym regime.
Can you post a before and after if your shoulders?
Also who is the doctor?
Also who is the doctor?
