Caused my Face to Sag!

I actually went in wanting laser for my acne scars, melasma and to soften up my face. But, I was convinced in having Ultherapy done. They hyped it up like it was going to preserve how I looked and keep me from age for a good...6,7,8 years. However, what I received was a slowly melting face. All my fat in my face, gone. So bad, that you can actually see the suture lines on my skull. My skin is sagging, so I have a turkey neck. I'm so extremely pissed off and angered, that they would actually consider me as a candidate for this. So now I'm going somewhere else, in which they thought it was from me running and exercising excessively. I workout, but this was a fast...within 6 months I'm looking like I'm in my 40's.

Really sorry this happened to your face. Would you feel brave enough to post a before and after photo? I want to get Ulthera but still sitting on the fence about it..

ivana321: I wouldn't risk it. The same thing happened to me. Unfortunately, a small percentage of the population does experience fat atrophy with Ulthera & Thermage. There are also those who experience good results, but when it rains, it pours. I wouldn't risk it. Save up & get a mini face lift instead in the hands of an expert surgeon.

Thansk PhoenixRising,
I wish there was a way to tell pretreatment which people would benefit and which would get fat atrophy.
Did you have any indicator prior to your treatment that it could react this way to your body?
Eg:have you ever had thyroid problems or other illness?

I have no chronic conditions or co-morbidities. I'm extremely healthy and have exercised routinely since I was a teenager.

Are you able to post a photo?

I'm happy with my results but I would *never* recommend this procedure to anyone. Too many horror stories out there.

I'm so sorry it has taken me this long to respond - I only just came across your post! Although I have had prior thyroid issues (since healed), I was never told this was an indicator that I would not be a suitable candidate!! Well, I'll be damned ... ! If you would be so kind, could you explain that a little more?

Because I was influenced by the countless good reviews & had trust in my Doctor, I don't think it quite registered when I started noticing the negative changes ... so - would you believe - I went back for round 2? Perhaps I was a little panicked at that point, and was grasping for someway to fix things - I don't know. What I do know is that round 2 made things worse, and that was undeniable. Lesson learnt - and that certainly comes out quite firmly anytime a doctor tries to sell me on the benefits of Ulthera!

My results is good my skin is tightened but I do not recommend for those people who have a fat face. Maybe the result is not good even if the 4mm deep in skin tightened Underneath.
