Hello I am 42 years old and schedule to have a Sleeve Gastrectomy done on 12/11/2017. pre-op appt is set for k 12/07/2017. I started this journey 7/05/2017 at 260 Ibs and as of 11/17/2017 I weigh 250. my Heavy weight was 295. I finish all my clearances within the two 4 month time frame. I'm very excited now that it's within my sights. I could have lose more work but between working two jobs, the only excising I do is walking for 1 hour everyday and for the last month I been watching what I eat heavy, but still there should not be any excuses. Hopefully I have lost some more weight when I go in for pre-op appt on Thursday. here are some before pictures

Wish you well! I was sleeved on December 11, 2017. Two days in the hospital as I retained way too much fluid! I didn’t have a lot of gas pain nor nausea! I just took the meds just in case. I’ve lost 10 pounds since surgery 5 days ago! Best wishes to you too! Looking forward to hearing your journey!

I was sleeved on December 11th as well! So far so good. I’m not set to go back for one month follow up until January 17th. Not doing too well with purée. I do get soups in and premier shakes and water in no problem. . Maybe it’s the psychological thought of purée. Please let’s stay in touch! Just starting to have energy rhough.

Good luck on you sleeve. I have been sleeved, it’s been 34 days now post op. I started at 204 on surgery day November 9th, 2017, BMI 35 and a couple comorbidities (if I spelled that right). I’ve lost 14 lbs as of November 12th. It’s coming off slow but steady which is better. The risk of gall bladder problems decreases if it’s that way. I hope your journey is a wonderful one as I am sooo looking forward to feeling and looking much better than I have been in a long time. My heaviest was 218 a year ago and I lost 14 on my own but it took almost a year to do it. Keep posting , Congratulations by now you have had your surgery and I hope all went well.

I was sleeved on December 11th, 2017. I had a two day hospital stay. I have no real pain per se just stomach muscles. I’m able to drink the recommended amount of water and protein shakes. Real test will be at home. Surgery weight 251. So far so good!
December 13, 2017
I’m just tired and sore, but so far today I have only drunk 5 oz of protein and 2 oz of water but it’s only 12:04 pm so I think I’m afraid of the dumping ok. I hope to get better I did get my vitamins in today so that’s good. My surgery weight was 247 in the same day. So let keep in touch

I go to the doctor on the 19th December to get weigh in, I did buy a scale or home yet because I didn’t want o keep weighing myself if that makes any sense. Please keep me post on you progress

Hello Crissy, how are you feeling today 2 days post op? I hope all is well with you. Are you home or still in the hospital? Have you begun to walk around yet?
December 14, 2017
Absolutely! My name is Karen and I have not been able to during the 64 ounces we should be drinking in a day. It’s just too much right now. I don’t throw up, I just get full so fast that I can’t drink that much water and protein drinks and eat so I chose to drink my orotein drinks to make sure I get all of my protein in, and I drink as much water as I can around it. I’m feeling fine except that. I am trying to put myself on a schedule so when I go back to work I will be okay. I am off until January 9th because i talk for a living and didn’t realize how much we use our stomach muscles to speak. I talk all day long almost non stop so my surgeon gave me another month to get it together in that area. I am pleased with my sleeves and I know you are too. What made you decide to get sleeved?
December 14, 2017
See I siding want to buy a scale yet because I did not want to disappoint myself if I gained a tenth of a pound. So I only get weighed at the doctors office.
December 14, 2017
I’m doing good only able to get down about 50 grams of protein and about 4 ozs of water lol but I’m home. I actually came home on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. It get better and better each day. The gas is still a little issue
December 14, 2017
Me as well as far as the protein my total of 50 oz of protein and 4 oz of water. I choose to drink my protein as well. I go back to work on 23rd of January because I wanted to be full recover because I work two jobs. My full time which I sit at a desk all day and the other is heavy lift which is a no no for a while
December 14, 2017
Me two but I might at least buy one in January, my test of time will be when I go on my birthday cruise on January 15 - 20, 2017. But I assume I still won’t be able to eat much.
December 14, 2017
50 grams of protein is great!! We started with 40 grams for the first two weeks, then 50 grams , now I’m up to 60 grams until December 24th. I’m on soft foods now. What is your goal weight? Mine is 130 lbs but I’m scared that I may not get there. I’m losing slowly but I’m not walking or exercising as much for the past week or so. It’s freezing here and just driving to the mall is pretty bad right now. Since I’m still off work I’m going to press my way.
December 14, 2017
Oh wow! You definitely have to be extra careful with the lifting because I felt great at the one month mark, went to Sams club to get my protein and the grocery store, although I had them bag light my stomach was burning and hurting in the inside...so when I got home and undressed my incision which had closed was open and bleeding. So really be careful with the lifting make sure you talk to your surgeon about that. If you are able you may need a couple of months off that job.

Happy pre birthday!! Have fun on your cruise, take it easy . You won’t be able to eat like your friends after a couple of bites you will be full and that full feeling is uncomfortable. I felt it a couple of times and now I stop before I feel it because it can be awful. I have to walk around just to get the food to digest a quick as possible so I have learned when to stop shy of feeling like that. It’s defin a learning journey. You will learn how much you can tolerate and if you ever experience that full feeling in your stomach you will not want it again. It doesn’t hurt and it doesn’t feel like being full preop but it’s a weird feeling and I do not like it. Last night I was with my daughter watching a movie and I ate some crackers three of them and a couple of bites of salmon from my dinner earlier and oh boy!! I wish I could have thrown up so badly! I could not sit down I had to walk and try to belch which was difficult because the food was up in my esophagus excuse I ate too much. That won’t happen again!!! Someone’s you might push yourself because you “think” you are hungry but you are not it’s in your mind from preclude behavior and you will feel horrible . Try not to do that like I did. When you are done with you’re oortion, stop.... and don’t eat anymore, if you are able too. It is definitely mind over matter. I’ve heard people throw up a lot, I’ve never thrown up and wanted too so badly last night.. so I have to be extra careful I don’t want to stretch my stomach and defeat the whole purpose. So take it easy pay attention to your body, listen and each time you will learn your limits and you will do great!!
December 15, 2017
why I’m glad it’s somewhat a turn off switch for the stomach because I don’t ENT to stretch it out. I want o be successful in this transformation. I don’t know what stage of my food process I will be on, but I do believe it’s staged 4. which mean I can have fish without skins and vegetables
December 15, 2017
it’s cold here o I at least try o get 30 minutes, but I get tried fast as well, I guess lack of food lol. but the reason I get my protein in is because I don’t really get my water intake. I just be so concerned bout get in as much protein as possible. my goal with with my doctor is 150, but mines is 165 lbs lol. because I’m tall 5’9, and don’t want to look like a pole. I can not wait to get on puréed or soft food because I’m can see-me getting tired of theses protein shakes by end of next week. don’t be scared let’s just take it one day at a time and we will meet out gold
