Frienemies (tubes) are gone!!
tyetrenyaApril 2, 2016
Forgot to post pics the day that I left the DR but my frienemies (drain tubes) have been removed. I gave them that name simply because they were like friends that I had to hold on to but then enemies because I hated them and they were annoying. Anywho I am able to exercise and slowly getting back to my regular daily routine. I have been able to lift about 5-8 lbs but my PS recommended me to wait 10 days from last visit before I start doing anything strenuous. Outside of my limited restrictions I feel great and love my results even with the swelling still in my tummy. I am unable to wear regular clothing with buttons as I don't want to put too much pressure on my tummy but I'm gettin there. Will keep you all updated.

You look great and I want to thank you for sharing your pics, & posts. How do you feel?
April 3, 2016
Thank you so much, it is definitely a work in progress. I actually feel great I am able to walk on my treadmill for at least 1 mile per day without pain and discomfort also because I wear my binder with any strenuous activity. My tummy is swollen but through it all I feel great!! I have read your post and you will look great. Good luck on your surgery. Are you staying in the area after your surgery??

April 3, 2016
I will.stay in town this day of the surgery and the day after. Back to WV I will go. It is only a 1.5 hour drive and my husband will be driving. I am anxious to see how soon I will be able to get back to teaching ZUMBA. I will let you know. My pre-op is in 2 Saturdays & my surgery is in 3 Thursdays. The count down has begun.
April 3, 2016
Yayyyy!! I believe your results will be awesome, I have faith in that! It should not be very long before you can teach again maybe 3 weeks or so but it depends on how your body heals. Yes counting down with you, thumbs up!!

Had my surgery 5 weeks ago. The swelling has gone down a lot. I am pleased with my results thus far. I was in a size 14 before surgry. I am now in size 10. I bought a lovely dress 2 weeks ago for my son's wedding this past weekend. When I put the dress on Saturday afternoon for the wedding, it was too big! Since the wedding was out of town, I had to wear the dress anyway. It didn't bother me though, since I am so glad to have that 'spare tire' around my middle gone!

You look amazing. I hope you love your results I had a penniculectomy a year ago with hernia removal. The experience wasn't bad until my wounds opened up on both sides but I'm all healed and happy...ready for my BR on Thursday and lipo to follow.
April 11, 2016
Thank you!!! And yes I do jus tryin to get over the swelling. Good luck on your BR!! Oh wow how did your wound open up on the sides?? That must have been something? How long did it take to completely get over the swelling?

April 11, 2016
My wounds opened up I'm guessing because I was coughing a lot. It took a while to heal completely. I dealt with swelling for months prob about 4 to 6 months after surgery.
April 11, 2016
Oh wow.....I'm sorry. But that's a long time to be dealing with swelling, do you have any up to date pics from your panni??

April 11, 2016
Currently no but I think I've gained in my upper abdomen since then. I should have been dieting the whole time. That's why I still want lipo
April 11, 2016
Oh ok, that's what I'm doing now dieting and exercising. I'm tryin to lose more weight but I was also thinkin bout gettin lipo on my love handles if I can't lose the weight myself in that area. I also wanted to do either lipo on my thighs or fat transfer from my thighs to my butt....

April 12, 2016
I'm trying to find a doctor close by that does smart awake lipo. I don't want to get put to sleep again. Best of luck on your endeavors.

healing and itchy phase
tyetrenyaMarch 27, 2016
My incision is definitely healing bc it's itches extremely a lot. The scabs are peeling which is a good sign. How is blue heaven do people deal with the itching? Are you allowed to use anything on the incision to decrease some of the itching? it is also extremely dry....Please help!!

Try Benadryl Liquid. Over the counter sale. It also makes you sleepy. You will keep healing while you sleep and not hurt or itch.
April 3, 2016
Ok thank you I will try that bc sometimes I just want to open my stomach and scratch although I know that is not possible. Lol

Did your Dr. recommend keeping the scar moist during the healing process? I'm going to talk to my surgeon about keeping Neosporin on the scar after the stitches are removed. I am scheduled for Mommy Makeover/Tummy Tuck on April 13.

Neosporin with pain relief...
I have been putting it on my scar after my bath each morning. My skin around the scar looks better and does not itch. My surgery was 5 weeks ago. Most of the scab is gone. The Neosporin helps keep down the itching.
