Provider Review
At age 53, the skin on my neck was so saggy that I had an actual fold in the front of my neck, and I was starting to wear turtlenecks and high-necked tops as much as I could to hide it. Also, my upper eyelids were drooping, especially on the left side. I knew this was hereditary because my mom aged just the same way. My mom told me when she was in her 80s that she wished she'd had a neck lift when she was younger. I decided to be proactive because I'm too young for my face to be sliding down my freaking neck. I'd heard good things about Dr. Olding from a friend who had her eyes done by him and from my primary care physician who knows him, and his credentials are absolutely top notch. When I met with Dr. Olding, he was nice but very clinical and direct. This is not a guy who's going to hold your hand and tell you you're still a beautiful woman. That's fine with me. What he will do is give you honest advice and perform world-class surgery that results in a natural look. Dr. Olding and I agreed quickly on doing eyelid blepharoplasty. He said that eyelid blepharoplasty is the facial surgery that usually gives the most "bang for the buck" - it makes a big difference but is not a big surgery, relatively speaking. He recommended lower lid as well as upper to help with the puffy area under my eyes. He advised me that to do a neck lift right, the surgeon should involve the lower face as well as the neck to produce a more natural and longer-lasting result. Dr. Olding's emphasized that he wants his patients to look normal, not "done", after surgery. The way he explained everything made sense to me, so I did not pursue meetings with the doctors who advertised only "neck lifts". It's now been about a year since my surgery and I could not be more pleased. I had trust in Dr. Olding and his staff (including his nurse Beth and patient liaison April, who were both terrific). I diligently followed their pre-op instructions. My recovery was so fast (and virtually pain-free) that ten days after the operation, I put on makeup and had dinner with relatives, and they didn't notice anything different. Dr. Olding's follow-up care from was excellent - lots of appointments and personal time - he monitors everything closely. I have a small surgical scar underneath my chin that nobody notices. I have no scars or abnormalities on my face and I can wear makeup or not, and wear my hair up or down or however, because there is nothing to hide. Now I look at photos of myself before the operation and think, thank goodness for Dr. Olding and my job that generated the money to pay him! I look so much better, yet I also look like myself. Every time I do my face in the morning or put on a non-turtleneck top or notice my firm jawline in a mirror, I want to give the doctor a high five. I recommend Dr. Olding enthusiastically.
