Should I stop using Picosure on my black ink tattoos?!
WORTH IT$1,075
Hi all! I need your help. I've done I believe 5 (it might already be 6 though) picosure treatments and 2 medlite before that on three mostly black ink tattoos and the progress is okay but nothing that great. I want to re think what laser I'm using. Currently I've been going to UntattooU in Vienna, Virginia that has a picosure laser. Photos are attached with my progress after all those treatments. Help! Is it possible to find another laser that's faster or go back to Medlite? I don't know what to do.

Second Picosure Laser Tattoo Removal Treatment Session at UnTattooU in Virginia!!
Hi all. Update! So just had my second picosure treatment session done. So far this is now two picosure sessions and two medlites before that. I switched the locations of the places I went to too. I did it without lidocaine injections again this time-only the cooling air system-and it hurt a little more but was tolerable. I definitely saw some fading from the first picosure treatment to when I got my second one done today. It faded more over the 6 weeks I waited in between but obviously I wish it would have been more drastic but not going to be the case. Anyway, the third treatment is going to be in 8 long weeks because I was told I need to have a bit more time to heal and for it to fade more in between. How long do you all normally wait in between treatments? Really anxious to get these off my body but it is a LONG process. Keeping it covered right now and with lots of aquaphor on top. What solutions do you use to keep it from drying up and scabbing?

My laser specialist makes me wait 8 weeks for maximum healing time. The better you treat your skin, the better the final result, I imagine. I use the Quanta Q + C laser and apparently recently he's been more 'mean' on my skin, meaning he turns up the laser a bit. And yet, I only get redness, swelling, and maybe tiny blisters. No open skin, so no drying up/scabbing for me. It's strange to me that different lasers have different effects on the skin. Anyway, if I had to guess I'd say you are doing the best job you can in keeping it from drying up. I'm assuming it's a little like a tattoo where you just keep the thing hydrated, and if it scabs up you just try to leave it alone the best you can.

Yes! Thank you so much. And good to know you also have to wait that long too.

Hey, I am using Picoway. Had 3 so far. Will post updates over the weekend of the 3rd one. I have been told that after my 4th, they'll give me Picosure as better for blues which is underneath the one shown in my photos. I wait 6 weeks and been told this is ok for fading time etc. I use vaseline and cover with film. Look forward to your updates. I know its a loooooong process.

First Picosure Laser Tattoo Removal Treatment Session at UnTattooU in Virginia!!
Hi all! So I got my first picosure treatment session this morning and I did it without lidocaine or any numbing cream!!! The place I went to is called UnTattooU and it's located in Vienna, Virginia and just over a year old. They offer the numbing solutions but I found with just the cooling system (which the place before didn't use) it wasn't so bad. Yay! Anyway, although I was happy that the tattoos didnt bleed or blister from the treatment they also didn't show any noticeable change which I did see a little bit after my two medlite sessions. But I guess we'll have to see. Somehow I guess I was hoping for some magical thing where I saw a huge difference after the picosure but this is not the case for me as you can see in the pictures. I also was told I will probably need about 6 sessions and getting the two medlite ones didn't help it move faster because it's just a totally different laser, etc., which is very frusterating. What have been your experiences with picosure on black ink? I'd love to know! My next appointment is in 6 weeks.

I just switched from Picosure to the Medlite on my black tattoo, haha. Glad you mentioned you didn't use numbing though -- my new clinic has the cooling thing, so I was wondering how it would be to do just that without numbing cream. My tattoo takes less than 10 seconds to be lasered, so I figure I can suck it up and skip the numbing maybe.

How come you switched to medlite? And yes you'll be totally fine with the cooling system!!

I had 3 sessions with Picosure and didn't really see any results, so my clinic advised me to try the Q-switch. Maybe I'll go back to Pico further on in my treatment, depending on what happens, but for now I'm sticking with the Q-Switch.

I use to do tattoo removal with a qswitvh and tag n I can tell you at full power black in will dissapear very fast. If your light skin there is no reason they can't amp it up and get it gone. This was few years ago I have never heard of pico. But I have removed a tonne if tattoos in as little as 3 sessions. The only color I ever had a problem with was sky blue n pink

Thanks for your comment! You should look into picosure though because in a few years technology can dramatically change and this is the new one that a lot of doctors recommend and also three sessions seems very unlikely. I did two of mine using Qswitched and there is no way the whole thing would be gone after one more.

I'm having my treatments on my unfinished half sleeve done there at untattoou. I love that place. Hilary is doing my treatments.
