So - Invisalign worked for me!
Haven't been updating but was looking in the mirror today and it fully hit me that my gap is gone and thought I should share. Currently in the retainer phase and while I'm anxious to move to just wearing them at night (my dentist says a few more months) just so happy about where I have ended up!
Tray 2
Just left the dentist and tray 2 is successfully in. I was given trays 2-5, so won't be back for awhile. Will be getting IPR before tray 6, and then again before tray 15 (I have 18 total, unless I need refinements). Feeling some pressure, but its definitely manageable. I have a huge bottle of Tylenol on my desk in case things change. I just spent two minutes comparing tray 2 and tray 1 and they look identical (they even nestle nicely into one another), but the pressure tells me there must be *something* different.
The edges don't feel rough this time, so maybe my tongue has just gotten tougher. All in all, everything seems well. Going to wait another set or two before I take photos, don't want to be discouraged when its so early in the process.

One Week In
I got my first tray last Wednesday, and it kind of feels like I have been doing this forever already. Not in a "this will take so long and the road is hopeless" kind of way, but in a "I am in a routine, and this is manageable" sort of way.
I have had two events come up in the last week that already have challenged my dedication - a beer festival that I forgot we had tickets to and a charity gala with a 2 hour dinner (!). I will admit that with both of these events I was less than perfect. For the beer tasting event, which was a 3-hour all you can drink festival, I waited until the last hour and a half before partaking. I think I put them back in about 5 minutes before the event ended. And with the 2-hour dinner gala, that was definitely hard, I think I had the trays out for almost the whole time (I kept wanting to get up to sneak out to the bathroom, but it was a domestic violence fundraiser and there were some incredibly amazing women there and I didn't want to be disrespectful by walking out mid-speech).
I have tried to make up for it by being super strict when I can. Only have my trays out for 10-15 minutes for breakfast, 15 minutes or so for lunch, and 20-30 minutes for dinner (so I can squeeze in a glass of wine!). I will be a little less than 2/3rds done when my wedding rolls around, so feeling doubly motivated to do this right. I am actually thinking of asking my dentist to see my clincheck again at my next appointment so I can see where I am supposed to be in late September (I think this will be great extra motivation).
After the third day the trays no longer hurt at all, to the point where I am a little antsy and wish I could speed this up (if it doesn't hurt, what is the point :) ). I am sure all of us feel this way. The alternating of tray cleaning with CVS denture tabs and the hydrogen peroxide is working, over half way done with the first tray and it looks pretty good to me.
