Hi all
I'm nomally not a person who writes reviews but in this case I was compelled to do that . I had a PLEXR upper lids treatment just over a month ago and wanted to warn anyone who's contemplating going ahead with this procedure . First .. it's horrendously painful . Something I wasn't quite expecting having a
desensitising cream applied prior to the procedure. It felt like my eyelids were literally burned with a flame welding gun or something of that sort . After the initial pain I went home .. with terrible brown burn marks but this is something I was fully aware of . What I wasn't aware was that two days afterwards my whole face would swell so much , especially eyes , that I could hardly see though them .. after another 3-4 days the selling have gone down . My eyes still felt very painful and the scabs weren't going anywhere. After about 10 days the scabs started to finally fall off ... underneath there was a super damaged and red skin . It looked so terrible I wanted to cry . The skin was uneven and cherry red . I had to resort to applying 3-4 layers of concealer and make up on order to be able to leave the house and not scare people. It's been a month since the procedure and up until few days ago the eyelids looked exactly the same .. zero changes .. all red and scarred . I am worried that it will actually leave permanent scars :( my eyelids only started to look a tiny bit less red 3 days ago but they are still very bad .. I called my clinic and asked how this was possible. What I was told was that it sometimes takes 2-3 months to fully heal .
At this stage I'm so so scared that it will leave permanent damage that I'm literally praying it will resolve ... I don't mind waiting another month or even two as long as the redness is gone .
I have attached few pictures for your reference.. I feel like this procedure is very unsafe and because it's new there are still not many reviews around .. all reviews I found before i decided to go ahead we're very positive. I simply can't that PLEXR is approved to be honest . Not only it is an excruciating painful , I can see very minimal results in terms of my upper eyelids being less droopy .. maybe one millimetre difference ... ? So overall horrendous ordeal , not worth the money and potential scarring for life .. I guess I learned my lesson with this one ???? Please don't do that !

Hi there,
I was wondering how you're doing / whether there has been any improvement in the redness? I'm in much the same position - had Plexr in mid-May not expecting either the extent of pain during the procedure, or the facial swelling a day or two after and the prolonged red scarring. It's now 8 weeks for me and the redness is still significant - has yours improved at all? The GP that did mine has reassured it will go in time and that I should go ahead with a second treatment, but I am very worried that I will be permanently scarred. Many Thanks.

Hiya, I hope joke eyelids are healing well x I'm sorry to say that now after almost 3 full months my eyelids are still red and uneven . They are not very red anymore but the colour difference is visible . Also the skin is uneven when I touch it .. I had a consultation at a skin specialist and she suggested laser treatment ( not sure the exact name but the treatment is similar to microneedeling but done by laser .. whereby very very Tiny holes ' damage your skin ' and it rebuilds ) the lady said that this would improve the looks and feel by 70-80% which is worth it in my opinion.. but before I do it I will do more reading about that procedure . I had already made a stupid mistake of jumping the gun and I doing want to cause more damage :( Good luck and let me know if you discover a magic solution ! I'd love to hear about it

Thanks MiniMe ... it's good to know that there's further treatment that can help if needs be. I went back to the medical professional who did mine ... this time round they told me that it could take anything upto 6 months for the pigmentation to sort itself out - but still had every confidence that it would do so. If you're able to live with using camouflage makeup for six months before doing the further treatment I think this is what I would (am going) to do. I'm rubbing bio-oil on at night and aloe-vera in the mornings as this is what I've kind of gleaned might help from searching the internet (can't do any harm anyway). Keep me posted and I will keep you posted on mine too (you too PoppyH). TC [RS bleep]

I’m using Skinoren and Melackear to help with the pigmentation but am only on day 2 of using them. Fingers crossed they work!

Hi, I had this treatment 11 months ago and I had the same problem. I am sorry to report that it took months for my skin to heal and the texture is still uneven and I have some minimal scarring from it. I upset at myself because my eyelids were not bad to begin with but I thought this might freshen up my eyes. I had top and bottom done. Only now, almost a year down the line am I seeing the extent of my scarring and I feel as though it is getting worse/more noticeable as the skin settles. I would love to know what treatment I could have done safely on my eyelids/underneath my eyes that would smooth out the skin. The pigmentation does go down but now, since my holiday in the sun I have hyperpigmentation around the outside of my eyes. I wish I had done more research. Hope that helps.

How long before you saw any improvement in the initial pigmentation? I’m nearly 6 weeks in and not seeing anything much- if anything one eye is worse.

It’s 10 weeks now. Above one eye radiating out to the brow there are lots of pale pink lines from the treatment and small indentations. Above the other the lines have faded to pale brown at the outside edge under the brow but my actual upper eyelid and area just above is still dark brown. Under both my eyes it’s pinky/brown. The discolouration is around all of the small holes and in exactly the same shape as the original inflamed area. I don’t think the under eyes have improved much at all although I understand this area takes the longest to heal? I keep setting a deadline at which I’ll panic if it’s not healed - then I get to that deadline panic and focus on a new date. I’m hoping by 4 months the upper eyes will be much better and I’ll see some positive change under the eyes but th progress is so minimal right now I’m scared.

Angiebei. How are the indentations around your eyes now as I’m in the same position as you the 10 week mark .wished I’d read up about this treatment before!look bloody ridiculous and feel stupid for going ahead without doing some research

Hi my eyelids have massively improved I found that various creams I tried along with a peel helped mine xx
December 24, 2017
What creams did you use? I’m just over 3 weeks in and my doc has diagnosed post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The skin is brown where treated not red anymore and I’ve had to start on topical creams to lighten the discolouration. Any advice re successful treatment welcome.

can you recommend anything else other than oxygenetics to help the pinkness go and healing
UPDATED FROM MiniMe11
8 months post
Plexar-9 months post : update
Hello x
I thought I’d post an update on the healing process ... it took about 3-4 months for the majority of the redness to disappear.. however I had few consultations at various laser clinics and I was told that the skin is definitely damaged .. you can see it under special light they use to asses the sun damage ... sadly this is the effect of this treatment . The redness still comes back when I go to sauna for example .. it’s not the result I was hoping for and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone . I have booked a laser face treatment which hopefully resolve the remaining redness .. I hope you are all healing well :) hugs x Sabi

laser clinics could be saying that to get your money. looks to me like that was just unhealed new skin ! and they say it does take a few months.
January 11, 2018
I think it depends on where you have it done! I’m 6 weeks in and they told me it would be healed in 2 weeks and I have brown discolouration and indentations which are showing no improvement at all. Had I been told it would last a few months I wouldn’t have had the treatment.

Please note that it takes up to 3 weeks for the skin to heal and wil repair itself up to 6 months post. The indentations people are talking about needs to repair with collagen. Ive been trouhg the same and tought i would be left with what looked like acne scars after plexr. U need to put sudocream, or another creme with zinc in it on the plexr treated place every night. You will see the skin speed itself up to repair daily. Ive had this done 5 weeks ago and after 4 weeks slow inprovement. After the 4 weeks i started using sudocreme (zinc its for redness babybottoms etc) it was almost healed in one week.
My longer ago treated place (10 weeks now) remained staying red/pink and also that place improved a lot with the sudocreme.
Its far better than every scar cream i used so far

Thank you for writing this I'm chuffed with my results but will definitely buy sudocteme to speed up healing x

Hi, I had this done 10 days ago on my upper and lower and I have 2 side effects, one being that my eyes have loads of indentations (can’t even put concealer on as it fills the indentations and leaves dots all over) and secondly my skin feels sore to touch .... I don’t have redness but it’s very sensitive still. Is that normal ? Did your indentations go after a while?? If yes, great, how long - if not, what did you do?
January 13, 2020
Any update on the indentations? I had the procedure a week ago and I am terrified
January 12, 2018
Can you please let us know how the results are now and if you have found a treatment ? because my girlfriend did plexr as well and she is scared it will leave scars. thank you
January 13, 2018
Mine unfortunately got worse as time went by, for me it has dramatically speeded up the aging process on my upper lids. I am hoping surgery will help with crepeyness I have at 35 which i now have as a result of this treatment.

January 24, 2018
HI, yes sure, I had a Fraxel laser done n my eyelids and it's been 3 weeks, the full results an be seen after 2-3 months as skin rebuild itself but I can say it's already better, no damage, it's smoother and tightened. I do recommend it over plexr for sure. I will upload a pic shortly for you

January 24, 2018
I'm so sorry you went thought this, I'd see if the Fraxel laser treatment woud help... Its' known to heal various skin problems and also tighten skin so it's used for sagging skin on eyelids too. I had mine done 3 weeks ago to help fully heal my eyelids and I can tell the difference. You need 2-3 treatments I was told.
September 26, 2018
I've had upper and lower lids crows and frown with no scarring..it's very important your gf avoids the sun or she will be scarred and left with pigmentation
March 25, 2018
Hi there I had three treatments done so far redness will go away with time .! Are you happy with the results anyway?
February 22, 2019
Based on the picture you posted, your skin looks wonderful now. Glad to hear it healed, even though it took months.
I had very very little pain during administration, a couple of sharp stings at the edges of my life, that was it.
The swelling was bad the day after but still did not prevent me from working. There was no pain from the eyes at all.
Five days on and the crusts have all but disappeared from my left eye, though randomly they are still very much on my right eye but wearing glasses no one really notices.
I would advise anyone considering this treatment to research heavily on the Dr administering it.
I had Dr Patel, I'm sure if you google him and perfect skin, you'll find him. Early days, but I've not experienced pain or the horror described by others. My eyes look massively better, not perfect but to be honest my kids were so bad, that I'm thrilled to see a little bit of eyelid now, don't think I've seen them for 20 odd years!!
