Surgery took 3 hours. First night home - fuzzy. I only had a tummy tuck. At the last minute, I asked my ps to do the internal stitches loose because I'm 60 and don't have 50 years to enjoy the tight tummy. We decided right before surgery that he wouldn't put in the cross-stitches - up the breast-bone. Here are pictures 3 days PO.

7 days post op - feeling pretty good. I notice when i do more walking around, even though I'm not hunched over anymore, my back really gets hurting after an hour or so. I have noticed swelling in my tummy now - and I'm so itchy under the CG even with benadryl. I see the doctor on Friday for 2nd post op visit. I hope I can lose the CG and go with something firm yet smoother. I added more pictures from today and notice all the wrinkles from the CG and my tanktop - that I wear between me and the CG. So far, it hasn't been that bad a recovery. I am very, very thankful I opted out of the 'down the front' stitches and no lipo. I wasn't up for the added misery and give big KUDOs to the ladies who did multiple things plus their TT!

Hi Talented, I had it easy compared to the other ladies. I didn't get the front stitches or lipo and my recovery has been really fast.

Hi love-the-sun, I appreciate your comment as I don't remember seeing my belly button up so high - for years! If I could get rid of this rash, I would be sailing. I'm still worried about it... Thanks again!

14 days po. I think i am in the slump time. On day 6, i developed a really bad rash. I thought i was going to scream it itched so badly. My ps took the tape off on day 8 and said the rash was an allergic response to the surgical tape. We hoped that it would get better. Instead, it began spreading up from the incision to cover my entire tummy. My ps prescribed prednisolone pack on day 9. Prednisolone is awful stuff. I don't know how the baseball players could stand the aggitated, hard to get comfortable, insomniac side effects. I am feeling bummed now probably due to the prednisolone. Tummy is now a purply pink - the rash is finally subsiding - but the side incisions are bumpy and look awful. I am probably swollen and wish i could massage my tummy but it feels numb and tingly like when you feet fall asleep. I have read in other posts that around day 10 people feel the blues about the procedure. The worst is behind yet the road is not paved in beautiful tummy yet.

Sorry you got the blues today Catgetsdown, and also thank you for sharing it with us. I'm on that 2 day PO high and it's good to read what could be out there to face. I don't want to get too excited and then come crashing down. I sure hope you get better soon and the rash just keeps disappearing! Good luck!

I am 10 weeks today and i have the blues right now too. This weather doesn't help and also the few pounds i've put on since tt. Reality is we are going to go through all these emotions at one time or another. I've heard to many times now that it will be a year before we feel like ourselves again. Just that it will be more like 6 months. I love this site because i know i'm not the only one going through different emotions every week. One week i was worried about bb, another week i was worried about my muscle repair, another my scar, every week its been different. This week it's the weight gain.lol.... Thank God my husband just laughs at me, he thinks us Ladies don't give ourselves enough credit. Anyway heres to some positive attitude and rocking our bathing suits this summer!!! Happy healing Girl!!!

Congratulations on your beautiful results for not getting old before your time. I love the fact that you are 60 and didn't let that stop you from going through with this! You still have lots of time left to show off that beautiful belly!!!!!

Thanks, Renee - I appreciate your note!

What kind of muscle repair did he do? Are there different types of stitching, you mention he didn't do "cross stitching", so what type did he do?

Right before the surgery, I asked him to put in loose stitches and he said that I didn't really need those if I didn't want any - it would still be good. So - I didn't get any stitches up the front of the muscle. He was going to do the criss-cross type.
