After being given a "special offer" to try the Endymed procedure I decided to go with it as I wasn't ready for a surgical face lift and was told this was my best option. I was told I would have a slightly blotchy neck for 2 days and after only one day I could return to work with light make up on and no one would know I'd had anything done. These photos show my results at 3 days post treatment and one week post treatment. I'm sure you'll agree this is not a result that you could cover with light make up. If you look closely you can see the puss filled welts on my face that would pop during the night and leave crusty goop all over my face in the morning. I felt like I had 3rd degree burns. I'm 2 months post treatment and although my skin may look ok with make up on from a distance, it's blotchy with purple patches over it and the skin along my chin line and lower cheeks feels rough and has the texture of sandpaper where prior to this treatment I had very soft and smooth skin that many people commented on. I now feel a fool for paying to have my good skin ruined at 55yrs old.

Denist was professional but after my treatment went wrong she then said it was probably because of the low dose antibiotics I was taking at the time which I wrote in my info sheet before the treatment started. She gave me 4 free cooling mist treatments to try and minimise the burning but I feel no responsibility was taken for the result I received. I would have thought a refund would be a start but was never offered this. I now have sandpaper like skin around my lower cheeks and jawline. I kept being told the rough skin I have is normal and will disappear but after 2 months it's still the same. I had such severe swelling that my face was so heavy on one side I couldn't lift the corner of my mouth. I looked as If I'd had a stroke. If you're thinking of having this treatment I would recommend you don't. I personally think this machine was bought to the market too quickly without enough research and the operator I had wasn't given sufficient education to use it. I'm gutted.

What was the procedure exactly, please?
It looks like the hand piece was left at each spot and not being moved.
This should be reported in the MAUDE data base.

I email the Endymed Company twice and received no reply regarding the treatment I received. They wern't interested. The procedure involved a topical anesthetic being applied and then the Endymed Handpiece was placed on each part of my face as the operator carried out the treatment (which meant needles were shot into the basal layer of the skin and heat applied). The first part of one side of my face didnt turn out as bad but then she left the room and when she came back in and started again was when the skin was burnt the way it was. I suggested that when she left the room the machine may have reset itself to a stronger setting but she said that wouldnt have happened as the machine only has one setting. I found this comment strange as when she first started she mentioned how she would lower the setting as I had fair skin. Why would she say this if the machine only had one setting? Anyway I would be happy to bring the results i had to the attention of "MAUDE" but ive never heard of them and wouldnt know how to contact them. What i would really like is to here from the Company that puts their name to the Endymed Machine and hear from them if this is an operator error or if Im not the only one to get this reaction to this treatment.
Thanks for your interest in what happened to me as it was quite traumatic at the time because i didn't know if i was going to be permanently scarred or not which was rather frightening. If you could let me know a bit more about the MAUDE place Id appreciate it very much. Unfortunately here in New Zealand we cant sue fir malpractice as we have a government department called "Accident Compensation Corporation" which pays for any treatments you need due to an accident or misadventure which leaves me no avenues to get any compensation for the work i missed due to the way my face looked and felt or for the pain and suffering I endured for the 2 months this took to heal so you couldn't see any scabs, swelling, or redness. Unfortunately my skin is worse than its ever been as its left me with skin that feels like fine sandpaper in places when before the treatment i had beautifully smooth skin. All I wanted was for it to be a bit firmer.
