So I received so much guidance using this site that I thought it my turn to share my experience and perhaps help others as I have been helped. My big day is tomorrow! So I will follow up as I progress.

I started out as a small "A" cup and received a "full C" (don't remember how many cc's) of silicone implants put under the muscle back in January of 2000. I was very fortunate with how they turned out and have loved having them. I have had no regrets or had any trouble with them, but back then there was no Internet for researching and didn't know that they didn't last forever. After putting on weight they have gotten heavy and saggy and I just don't enjoy having them anymore. I don't like how I look in clothing anymore. And in particular, I want to have them removed BEFORE I have any problems. I have been losing weight and I figured now is a good time to start with a new figure! So tomorrow morning I am having my implants removed and getting a breast lift with some liposuction of the "side boob". Not too nervous yet. Just preparing my home for my recovery.

Thank you. So far so good.

Did you have the implants put in as you said in Jan.2000 but your next post says 28 year old implants. Which would be 1990 to be 28 years old. Am I reading wrong or???
Curious because mine are like 27 years old. That scar tissue of ten years is probably a big difference? I'm guessing. Thank you again for sharing.

Hi Lisalevi, yes I actually had them in Jan of 1990. I realized my typo and was not able to edit once saved.

First night was a bloody mess

So aside from having my 28 year old silicone implants removed and getting a lift, I also had Liposuction of the "side boob" and "back roll". I am upset with the staff not bandaging me up better or supplying my caregiver with gloves or enough gauze or anything. We were NOT prepared for the amount of mess and drainage that happened from where the Lipo incision was done. Instead of adding some gauze bandages and a compression garment to hold the bandaging in place, a large bandage was simply tucked under the bra they put on me and left it at that. So blood in the car, blood all over my bedding, all over the floor, legs, slippers. It was a mess and very stressful. The "expect some reddish drainage from the lipo for 2-5 days" was not enough info, and it looked like blood to our eyes. And the fact that my caregiver didn't know that she would need gloves. I feel that there should have been better info, better bandaging and more supplies. It would have made a scary night less scary.

I agree. That is distressing for sure.

Saw the doctor next day

Since my procedure was done on a Friday, the surgeon came in on Saturday morning for me since we had such a bad night. He gave me a clean bra and some fresh bandages and gloves. He also agreed that I should have been better wrapped and that they must have thought the bra was sufficient. So far, that is my only complaint of my experience. He also told me that it was mostly just fluid and not blood, but you could have fooled me. I will say that everything came clean in the wash without staining, so that is what confirmed it all wasn't blood. As far as the rest of the procedure, I am healing well and the doctor said I am right where I should be.
I have taken half an Oxycodone (approx. 160 ml) 2 x a day. I am more sore from the Lio that I am from the implant removal and lift. Does hurt when I need to get out of bed and it hurts when I first stand up. Oh and my boobs are so itchy!
