1. I decided to seek help for this procedure because I am a mom of four. I am active and fit and eat well and take pretty good care of myself. i work out 5 days a week and still had this little "mommy tummy" that I couldn't get rid of. I looked into Coll-sculpting, Smart-lipo and traditional lipo and with all of those things I was reminded that it will not take care of the excess skin. So once we decided on Tummy Tuck I went researching. like I said I got multiple opinions and prices and went through catalogs of before and after photos. In the end I chose Dr. Franco for the comfort I felt in his office, the fact that he is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and the way in which he does the procedure.

2. Day of Surgery - they take you in early. There are a thousand people talking and asking questions, setting up an IV and getting you prepped for surgery. I am kind of a light weight so as soon as the started the meds I was out and don't remember ANYTHING. I was picked up by a nurse and taken to a nursing facility for the first night to monitor my pain and help me be comfortable. Honestly, i would have rather been at home but I was comfortable and did get my meds on time and rested.
Day 2 was tough... not necessarily painful but tough. You can stand up straight, it isn't comfortable to sit and please don't cough or sneeze or laugh too hard!!! BUT each day after this gets better! I do have a pretty high pain tolerance so it may be more difficult for other but I think the fact that I didn't have drains and that I did have the Experal made a HUGE difference. I laid around for about a week and babied my body and then slowly started to get up and help cook dinner or walk around the block. I am still pretty swollen and have a hard time fitting into any of my business work clothes but i can see it decreasing daily which is great. i am required to wear the compression garment for 6 weeks (which i hate) but it is not uncomfortable, just annoying.

Honestly right now I feel good. I still have a hard time coughing, sneezing or laughing too hard but I can feel that it is getting better. my incision looks crazy right now but it is so low and perfectly shaped. I am really impressed!! I am really thankful to Dr. Franco for the lack of judgement in his eyes and responses and to his time for always being kind and supportive.

FORGOT - 11 days post op

I forgot to mention... I did a lot of research on the procedure and met with FOUR other doctors in the Austin area to get myself informed. Dr. Franco is the only one that creates his incision the way he does, I did not have drains (NO DRAINS) and he injected a drug called Experal at the end of the procedure which actually numbed the area for 72 hours. All of these things are playing a major part in my feeling so good only 10 days out!!!

Saw Dr. Franco in September 2015 for a consultation. Was thinking about Lipo originally. After speaking with him we decided that Plastic surgery would be the best course of action. Dr. Franco is very knowledgeable and although he is in a new facility he was very comfortable and comforting!! He was honest and kept me well informed. I worked a lot with Kristen, his care coordinator, she walked me through the procedure, the facility and what would happen the first few days. Since the procedure I have emailed, texted and called both of them and they have nothing but kind forgiving and informative. I still have swelling but overall feel great. My incision is in a good spot and had not given me any trouble. My belly button looks great (this is important ladies... ) and I am back to work. I am very excited to see the results as I continue to deflate over the next few weeks. Will post pictures soon!
