One year ago, I had Ultherapy instead of what I really needed - a mini lift. For me, Ultherapy was a waste of time and money which yielded zero results.
I just had my lift (lower face and neck tuck and a little lipo under chip) four days ago so still swollen (more on one side than the other) and bruised but I expect to be very pleased with the results. No real pain, just can't lay down so sleep has been only in short naps. Hubby is taking good care of me but we are both plain bored. I'm not a TV-watcher and have now watched anything I may have had a remote interest in and plenty of crap I wasn't interested in out of boredom. I'm starting to see improvement and can't wait for swelling to diminish.

Thank you for sharing your story so far on RealSelf! I'm sorry you are bored. What about some good books or magazines? Has your surgeon said how long it will be until you're ready to go out in public?

You're funny with your comments about tv. Thanks for sharing your experience. Your neck really silhouette really does look gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing pics after swelling and bruising are past. Thanks, especially, for the information about the post op pain levels. Very appreciated.

I agree Ultherapy was a waste of money & time & it was extremely painful. I will be getting actual surgery now. Wish I had gone with my gut instinct instead of being talked into Ultherapy.

May I ask what you think about your results now, how old you are, and which doctor in Richmond you went to? I have thought about ultherapy, but, like yourself, feel it will end up like the fillers; waste of $$. I am 60, and really do not want to waste another cent on procedures that just do nothing but pad doctors pockets!

I would not recommend Ultherapy. It has been 7 months now & I do not see any difference now. I am 54 yrs old & I wanted to improve the dropping of my lower face. I still have the some jowls. going forward I will not waste my money on these laser surgeries. The only thing that works is actual plastic surgery. I am saving up for it now.

One week Post Op - mini lift and neck lift

hottie51
Well, I'm one week PO and feel my bruising isn't too bad. Much of it is already fading. The bruise on chin is from a little lipo the doctor did there. At my first post op dr appt, he took out 1/2 the stitches and replaced with skin-colored tape and skin glue (?). I'll go back in four days to have the remaining stitches checked and, hopefully, removed. There wasn't any real pain and feel the outcome will be everything I had imagined. I never really experienced any weepiness or second thoughts as some patients mentioned, just anxious to be back to a normal routine. I feel okay, just trouble sleeping since they still want me to sleep upright for another week or two. Ugh. Sleeping upright is not fun or easy but it supposed to help with swelling and bruising. Perhaps I was a bit 'out of it' for the first few days, probably due to lack of sleep but never had trouble walking around the house, dressing, etc. Recovery has been easy but boring, which isn't really a complaint.

Your neck looks really good! Would love any advice--need mini and neck lift too. Godin seems like the best in Richmond. I've been researching for a long time.

He use to be very good. Not anymore. Best to go somewhere the Dr. is considered very good NOW, not in the past.

Mine was done in September. My doctor requires his patients to wear "head gear" for 2 weeks to help reduce swelling and bruising. Did yours? As soon as your doctor tells you can, massaging the bruises, blood that pooled due to gravity, will greatly dissipate. You have a model's neck, lovely.

Hi! When you get a little further along, would you mind sharing some pics of your incisions and some before pics? Thanks! I am looking into having a mini lift done.

Thanks!
