I've had an asymmetric look to my eyelids for a few years now. I'm hoping to correct this and gain more confidence while speaking face to face. I know i sound paranoid by saying this but I notice people noticing it and it zaps my confidence. Also, just a side note but I found out today that my insurance denied my procedure. Although im irritated with the outcome I'll still have my procedure on November 2, 2015.

You need to find out what your surgeon wrote to the Insurance Co. This should be covered in many instances. If this is congenital it should be covered or if it hinders your ability to read in any way. Your doctor needs to word this in such a manner that it should be covered. I would try to fight this if you can! Good luck.

Hi, I call them Drs office today and I was told that my skin needed to sit below my eyelashes in order for my insurance to cover the procedure.

Good Luck, I understand how you feel and I bet it will come out perfect! I had a contact lense infection that resulted in my right eye being droopy. I have surgery scheduled for November 9. It's been 4 years and I have been waiting for my eye to bounce back but it's not going to without surgery. I am a chicken when it comes to surgery but I can't stand it anymore. My surgery is covered by insurance because I took a "Field Test" and apparently I didn't see all the lights during the exam so my vision is impaired by my droopy eyelid.

Well, the procedure was less than 15 minutes and painless. Dr Newsome with Tidewater Eye in Virginia Beach had awesome beside manners and even incouraged me to listen to music while he operated. I'm doing ice every 20 minutes for the first day and just using Tylenol for pain once the numbness fades. Also , he placed sutures on the inside and outside of the incision area. I'll go a back and have them removed next Tuesday. Looking forward to some amazing results !

The swelling seems a little worse today but I slept like a baby last night and I'm not in any pain today . Dr Newsome warned me about the swelling for the first 2 days but that I should see some improvement everyday after. I'm still excited for my positive results :)

Wishing you the best- keep us posted on your surgery and recovery with review updates! You don't sound paranoid- that sounds perfectly normal to me. I hope the surgery allows you to feel more confident and not have to worry about your eyelid.
