I decided to go with Dr. Choi after getting multiple consultation from different doctors, some of them tried to push me to get something that I wasn't thinking about getting, some doctor wanted to charge me $100 for a consultation! But Dr. Choi saw me twice with no charge, he was very nice and took his time to explain everything.

Hi, thanks for sharing so many pics for your journey. Did your doctor remove any fat? And did he put in any permanent "anchoring" internal sutures?

Thanks!
Hi you're very welcome. Yes he did remove some fat on my eyelid and also I had folds on the inner corner eyes, so he also removed that folds (epicanthoplasty) as well but he did not leave any sutures in, I hope this answered your questions:)
yes, thanks!! My fear going into this is that the doctor will remove too much fat and as I age and naturally lose fat volume, that the eyes will become more hallow. :( so much anxiety going into it.
Yes I understand your fear, that's why do your research and get at least 3 consultations before you decide to proceed that's what I did:) Good luck!

It's been 8 months since the surgery...

I've been putting scar gels, now I put it on just at night before I go to bed but I forget sometimes...
The scars on my eyelids are almost invisible:)

Thanks for the update. I have been wondering how long it takes for the scar to disappear.
it's been almost a year, it's gone, it's been gone, it disappeared gradually for me, it didn't even bother me plus Dr. choi gave me few scar shots, and I kept using scar gel on my lids:)
That's funny I actually don't see and scars
Hi newsurferchick, thank you for the detailed review & updates :-)
Question: Could you please share what scar gel you used? I'm wondering if I can purchase it from Amazon. Thank you!!!!

Almost 2 months...

So on the 7th week post op, I went to see the Dr. He gave me another scar injection and told me the scar is under control so I won't have to see him till April.
The bumps on the inner corner is almost gone (he told me to massage those bumps) it's still slightly red, I've been using scar gels and he told me I have a nice scar, but what he meant was my scar is healing nicely...

Hi your eyes look great. Do you mind that I ask which doctor in LA did you get your surgery? I was looking to get double eyelid surgery as well and checking out doctors in Los Angeles. TIA
Hi his name is Dr. Andrew Choi in Korea Town, you can see it on the bottom so this page and he's also on this website answering questions. Let me know how it goes...
Hi
I'm interested in getting my eyes done, I had suture technique done on my eyes 3 years ago but my one eye didn't last. Just wondering how much was the cost for just the incisional double eyelids? How are your eyes now?
I don't know the cost of just the incisional double eyelids surgery because I also had epi as well.. I love my eyes, getting more natural and I can barely see the scar! I'm very happy with the result.
Yay! I had an upper and lower blepharoplasty and a lip lift about three years ago and the doggone doctor used a CO2 laser to get the scar tissue bumps flattened, or should I say burnt off. As a result, I lost all the pigment in the areas where the laser burned away the skin and it has never come back. Now I look like I have vitiligo.I am saying that you did a great job finding the perfect surgeon. Scar injections? I guess the surgeon I saw never heard of them. That CO2 laser tore the hell out of my poor skin. It looked like a dog had attacked my face and left rabies behind. Anyway, the point of this comment is to let you know that those bumps you mention will go away and your eyes will be beautiful.
OMG I'm sorry to hear that... The bumps got smaller and smaller (I was worried for a bit because my girlfriend who works at a med spa told me they will never go away), now I can barely feel my tiny bumps:) Thank you for leaving a comment, I hope you will be able to recover the skin that's burned off...
Thank you for your comments. I have been working on the skin problem and I have a consultation with a different plastic surgeon early next week. The pigment is gone, so now I am going to find out if there is a way to just even out my complexion. The skin on my face itself is in great condition, no scars or anything like that. Just two big white spots on both sides of my face.
they look really natural! so happy for you!
Thank you!
