DR. And staff were wonderful. Procedure was over and done with in 13 mins, no complications. Th dry heaving started within 20 mins after procedure, and didn't stop for 3 days. It was a combination of being in labor while having food poisoning. Im not gonna lie 48 hours into it I was thinking what had I done and I wanted this out of me. Day 4 I went to the ER to get fluids and nutritional Banana bag, that made me feel better. Had some nausea on day 5 and six but was able to keep down water , juice , broth, and protien drink. Tried to eat some oatmeal on day six... that was a mistake. He worse was over and I turned the corned on day 4 and each day since has been baby steps. Not ready to go to work yet but maybe by next week. Ive lost 9 lbs in those 6 days, 35 more to go in 6 months

I am wanting to get this done and was wondering how bad you feel afterwards and do they tell you that you have to stay off work for a set period of time. I am in your position where I want to loose 45-50lbs in 6 months.

I had it done two days ago. So far so good. Minimal nausea and only threw up twice. Acid reflux is going to be my biggest problem.

I had the Obera balloon almost a year ago, it took me almost a month to really start to feel better, I to thought I wanted it out, I was just tired of feeling nauseous and drained. I lost the most weight in the first month after that not anything substantial . In the six months I lost a total of 17 pounds, my daughter also had the procedure done and she may have lost 10. Not worth the $7000.00 each!! But now that it is out I'm finically dropping the weight
I hope you do better, disappointed in Michigan

I had the Spatz 3 adjustable balloon placed on Sept 30th 2016. This is part of a study seeking approval with the FDA for use in the USA. The balloon stays in for 8 months (can stay in for up to one year). First 3 days were miserable and like many thought "what have I done to myself" it all eased out and things were going well, steady loss of 2-3 lbs a week until Dec 11th. I was feeling nauseous all day and finally was sick that night. Chocked it up to eating too much. I was feeling sicker and sicker over the next 2-3 weeks and my weight loss was up to 4 lbs a week. Jan 5th went to see the doctor and he placed me on additional meds for nausea, to make my stomach process food, and Carafate for possible ulcers...I lost an additional 10 lbs in 4 days so on Jan 9th they went in and reduced the size of the balloon (this is the beauty of the Spatz adjustable). I felt better immediately, but now as the weeks have passed I am starting to feel a burning sensation in my stomach the Carafate helps. I have an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow. My current weight loss since the balloon was placed is 53 lbs. and I still have 4 months and 37 lbs to lose.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I am just wondering how things are going coming close to 1yr since you had the procedure. I am thinking of having the Obera.
