This review is for all of those out there who are borderline lifts. I won't bore you with my booby history or why I decided on getting implants, just wanted bigger boobs, plain and simple!
I had gone into surgery not really knowing what to expect as I was borderline. I paid for a donut mastopexy ahead of the procedure. My PS just said that he wouldn't know until the implant was in.
I was really quite uncomfortable with the appearance of the cookie cutter nipple look and had freaked myself out looking at too many post op complications/scarring reviews.
I was so happy to find out after surgery that I didn't need the lift after all! The clinic refunded me the almost $4000 cost difference and I'm now on day 2 post op.
From my understanding, the donut mastopexy only is able to correct mild ptosis, giving a maximum 1-2 cm lift, and I was a grade 1 ptosis before hand. I told the surgeon that I would prefer to just have the mastopexy done now rather than have to come back for another procedure. He said that if it came down to it, he would vote with the staff as to whether or not they thought the lift would be needed.
He used a dual plane technique which helps to lift adhered muscle and create a sort of internal lift, and once the implants were in place, they decided a lift wasn't needed.
Right after surgery I felt great, took some pain meds and was out walking/out for dinner later that evening. The next day (post op day 1) I was out shopping feeling occasional pangs of shooting pain. The breasts/nipples were both pretty numb and I was icing whenever I felt discomfort with good relief. I stopped taking the pain meds after that AM because it was making me feel nauseated and I've just been taking aleve/tylenol when needed.
Sleeping is the most annoying. I wake up several times with this chest pain/pressure, sitting up helps to relieve it. I've been pretty lazy today and probably am more fatigued due to all the activity I did the last couples of days... whooopse! I was a bit worried that I might freak out like some others have once they realize that they have bags of fluids shoved in their chests, but I felt comfortable with them right away and even though they're up to my clavicle and hard as rocks, I still don't mind the idea of them.
I'm eager to see how they "drop and fluff", will update with more photos!

Once the swelling leaves the top portion of the breast you'll look great. They are already looking good!

Hi! I went to clinic 805 with Dr. Smith. He is absolutely brilliant. He has so much experience and his staff are amazing. The whole experience was a breeze. They all are incredibly knowledgeable and sweet. I highly recommend them, it's a beautiful clinic.

Experience over the last week and photos!

Just an overview of the last week:
Day 2 - stopped taking narcotics in the morning due to nausea. Really minimal movement with my arms, any type of moderate raising causes this kind of sharp "ripping" type of pain. Need help to sit up out of bed, dress myself, and had help to wash my hair! Lots of chest pressure, wasn't able to take a deep breath or cough, kind of light headed walking around, was able to walk around for an hour in the evening tho! No appetite at all.
Day 3 - So tired!!! Crappy sleeps from a sore back, I normally sleep on my side and that wasn't happening. Napped on and off for most of the day. The shortness of breath and chest pressure was a bit worse today, although I was able to move my arms a little bit more.
Day 4 - Today I had a bit of booby regret, I feel like I might be too big in size. I really wanted to hide it from most people and only told a few friends. I hate lying around, the back pain is worse today, and I'm probably the most exhausted yet. The pain in my boobs is changing from more of a pressure to sharp pains, there's a lot of numbness and burnt skin type of feeling in random areas, I had a periareolar incision so the bottom part of both breasts is super tender but numb at the same time.
Day 5-7 - slowly able to move a little more, trying to minimize reaching, the chest pressure is lessening and I'm able to sleep lying slightly more flat and on my side, the pain is lessening and only kind of feels like a bit of a "tearing" type of sensation - kinda like the muscle is ripping off my chest.
On day 7 I had my first post op assessment and the nurse told me to start moving more and to massage my left breast aggressively as it's a lot higher than the right. The incisions look great and I'm going to use this micropore tape to minimize keloid formation. That starts after the incisions dry out and are a little less red. I feel way better this evening now that I'm given the green light to start stretching and moving more. My left boob is so sore from trying to massage it down so much today. It looks like it's dropped a tiny bit... I really hope they even out. I was told it could take up to a couple of months for them to drop fully.

Sore boobs!!
boobs81October 23, 2015
So I've been obsessing a bit over my boobs. The left breast is more swollen and high and I think I might be getting a bit of a double bubble underneath? It looks a little like my old breast tissue is hanging off of the implant. I have been reefing on them so badly with the massaging trying to get it to drop that I've noticed slight bruising on the top part!!
The nurse suggested I lift the nipples in the bra to try and lower the crease? I'm not entirely sure how well that will work but I did notice that the PS incised below my natural crease to allow the implant to drop so my boob tends to want to fall into the old crease. I really hope they level out. i know it's only day 9 but I'm impatient... bah!
I don't have to wear my dressings anymore and my wounds look good. I'm also able to wear any bras that don't have underwire or padding and still need to wear them 24/7. I'm wanting to apply that incision tape now. I'm asian so the nurse told me that ethnic skin tends to keloid more than caucasians so I'm eager to get that tape on. Once the redness settles I should be able to.
I'm hoping that the boobs drop a bit, I really don't want to have another procedure/lift.
I'm up for walks now more often. Next week is week 2 and I should be okay to start light cardio at the gym, so I'm excited to start getting back into routine.
Did anyone else out there have uneven dropping that ended up okay? I'm not sure how effective this massaging is. My nipples are quite low on my breast still :(
Just attached some photos from earlier of my incisions.

Benefits to silicone apparently tho is the more natural feel and less rippling. I figured if anyone was feeling my breasts they'd already know they're fake anyways!
