Day Three

I still have some swelling, but it is minimal. Most of the swelling is around my neck and my cheeks. I have one very small bruise on my neck but it is very light. My face and neck are sore but only if I press on it. The good thing is because of the swelling I barely have any wrinkles!! I know that's temporary but still fun to see it! I went out to the supermarket today with no problem. If you didn't know me you aren't going to notice the swelling at all. I don't have any strange sensations in my face or neck. I've read it can happen but I haven't experienced it so far.

I first looked at having Ultherapy two years ago, but due to some family issues and a broken foot I delayed the procedure. Yesterday after all the waiting I had my full face and neck done. I chose to have the procedure done at the Ritacca Cosmetic Surgery Center by Sarah Johnson. I've been at the Ritacca Center before and they were great for fillers and really believe in making the patient comfortable.
Sarah was very upfront with me about Ultherapy. She told me that there would be swelling and some discomfort and that it wasn't a lunchtime procedure. I really appreciated her honesty because I knew what to expect. She also explained to me what was a realistic outcome. I have a round face and gained 30lbs over the course of 6 months due to my broken foot (I wasn't able to walk and I just sat), I still decided to go ahead before loosing the weight. The worst part of the procedure was the anticipation of pain! I was really nervous because I heard all the horror stories about the pain, I was just about to chicken out!! All that anxiety was for nothing. I was given a pill for pain and one for anxiety when I got there, after 20 minutes Sarah gave me injections on the portion of the face she was working on. She then gave me a countdown to the first pulse. I was really nervous. When she started I was shocked that I could barely feel it at all! Ultherapy on my face wasn't that bad at all. There were a few places where I could feel a mild tingling but it was really minimal. The hardest portion for me was on the side of my neck, but it was very tolerable. Sarah did three passes on the face and neck, the deep layer, mid and upper layer. Today is the next day and I do have considerable swelling (but I was prepared and was told this would be the case). on my face and neck. I'm expecting swelling for 4-5 days. I will post over the next few months with my results and include some photos.

Sarah Johnson was terrific. She explained everything in detail and didn't sugarcoat the down time. She made the procedure very comfortable. She was very personable and is a great Ultherapy technician. Everyone is at the clinic is very helpful and friendly. My only complaint is that they are 4 hours away from me. This is my second time there and I'm very glad I traveled the 4 hours, it was worth it.
