Horrific H Cups Gotta Go! - Venice, FL

WORTH IT
This site has been super-helpful! I've always wanted a breast reduction and this year is the year. I am 51, have 3 adult children, and am very outgoing and try to be active. But on the inside, I feel like a freak because of my huge breasts. I even stopped dating because of how I have felt treated by men in the past whose eyes were trained on my chest and it's like there's a speech bubble over their heads with an animation of a motorboat playing in it.
There's also the cost of bras and bathing suits...Ridiculous! I must have ordered 10 bathing suit tops for a cruise I took last year and the final one still cost $110 and I still wore a shirt over the swimsuit. We went cave-tubing and the life vests really didn't fit. So embarassing. Haven't worn a button-down shirt in years and my collection of concert shirts sitting in wait until I can fit my boobs in them has a pile of dust on them.
Not to mention the shoulder and back pain...Ugh. And they are always in the way. My golf swing is horrible and the ball goes off to the side, so I adjust and everyone tells me I'm swinging wrong. I just want to put bowling balls in a bra, put it on them and hand them a club so they feel what I feel.
Anyhow, all that negativity will come to an end on Friday.
I went in for a consult with Dr. Yan in Venice, Florida. His staff was great working on the insurance approval and before I knew it, I was told that we had to choose a date within 30 days to have the procedure done! (I cried and cried when I got that call). I did the pre-op appointment last Friday, December 22nd and having the surgery on Friday. Dr. Yan said the procedure will probably be close to 5 hours because there is a lot of tissue to remove.
I'm trying to work up the nerve to take before photos...I don't think I'll be brave enough. I just want this over with and am looking forward to waking up to being Mizz FrankenBoob for a few weeks.

You are going to be so happy! Please take before photos. I know it's embarrassing because our whole lives all we did was try our best to hide them, but just think how much better you will look and feel. You will one day want to see where you started to compare because it's going to feel unbelievable. My surgery was a full 7 hours, but I did have a little lipo done as well. I asked my surgeon how much time he thought it would be without the lipo and he said no less than 6 hours! It's great to have something to compare towhee your done! I will be thinking of you on Friday and sending prayers and positive vibes :) Can't wait to hear how it went.

Thank you for you kind words! I did take a before photo and I'm definitely going to take after photos. Reading testimonials here make me feel not so alone, so I was actually happy to take the before photo...LOL! I can't wait until tomorrow.

coolrobin2 you sound just like me! I’m 66, hated my breast but yet I felt guilt because so many lose theirs to cancer. I am a 40H and I want to be as small a possible . my surgery is Feb 21. counting the days

I just went from a 40 H to a small c....I wanted to be bigger. You look so much bigger than I am, what size did you end up? I am envious

I haven't been measured yet, but somewhere between a d and a dd. Still wearing sports bras, mostly. Your surgeon got you to a c? That's amazing!

My surgery is done. I am super pleased with the result and lack of pain. Dr Yan removed about 5 pounds of breast. What a difference this makes! I was sent home with a zip up bra and the padding. I'm icing on and off, taking the pain meds, Arnica Montana pellets, stool softener Quercitin (sp), and Bromelain along with a ton of water.

We'll see how tomorrow goes. If there is little pain like now, I'll be even happier!

Still feel really good. There is a little bit of leaking, but not much. A little discomfort, but not much. Moving around is very easy to do, although I am not hungry and have to make myself eat. The ice packs are a must and someone said to use a travel pillow, which has been a blessing! That was such an awesome tip; that way I can sit up and nod off without hurting my neck. I have been sleeping all day today. Let's see how tomorrow goes.
