Don't Do VeinGogh: Made Things 5x Worse
I'm writing this review because there is not enough info out there on VeinGogh (other names are veinwave and thermavein.) I highly suggest you stay away from any ohmic thermolysis type treatment, in fact, vein treatments in general...they are a rabbit hole. Veins are UNPREDICTABLE, you cannot just "fix" them, they have a mind of their own...
I had VeinGogh for thin blue spider veins on the sides of my mouth that I've had since I was a kid. I went to reputable vein "specialist" who recommended the VeinGogh. The treatment made my thin blue veins darker, and created new veins (telangiectic matting) around them. So, essentially I paid to fix an insecurity and made it 5x worse. I also got a little pit mark scar. In certain lighting, the area looks almost like a wrinkle, and I feel that it makes me look older. Psychologically, this has been very difficult. To know that I made a decision that made my skin worse breaks my heart - its like I just wish more than anything I could go back in time and take back that stupid decision. Luckily, others say this is not noticeable, but to me it is noticeable every time I look in the mirror....I am trying to get used to this new change in my skin.I have looked into lasers to "solve" this problem, but I am wary of them. Cosmetic procedures are largely unregulated and are a slippery slope. One "solution" creates a new problem. Look up the Laser damage and IPL support group for some heartbreaking stories about the damage from lasers...they can age your face and cause collagen depletion. I'm thinking I may just have to live with this VeinGogh damage and not make it worse. I have hope that the area may heal a little more, and then eventually I'll forget about it. It sucks, but it's at a point where if I leave it alone I can probably live with it eventually.VeinGogh's marketing is a complete lie, there is even a letter from the FDA (on the laser/ipl damage support group site) to them that told them they need to change their marketing because the FDA didn't even see proof of what they claimed. VeinGogh claims its "no risk", only a risk of slight hyper pigmentation, and that the veins just "disappear." It's true, the veins disappeared for 3 weeks, then CAME BACK DARKER. Don't believe their BS, and don't believe that someone "reputable" knows what they are doing. The human body is unpredictable. Ask yourself if the risks are really worth it. If you're one of the unlucky people to have a bad reaction, it WILL be hard to live with yourself. Take it from someone who knows.
