Vaser Hi Def Liposuction Male Age 30-35
After around a year of delibration, I decided to take the plunge and get Vaser Hi Def. I regularly frequent the gym (3-4 times per week) but was unhappy with fatty flanks and some fat around my abdomen. My body fat is around 23%. I had a look around and Mike seemed like a logical choice - he had sigificant experience in Vaser so I booked a (free) consultation with him. He didn't give the 'hard sell' and was realistic about what I could (and couldn't) achieve. I went away to have a think and then had a second consultation around one two months later following some further questions.
I had my procedure yesterday. I fasted overnight and arrived late morning to the clinic. I signed the consent forms and went downstairs to the operating room where they took my blood pressure, temperature and heart rate. I spoke with the anaesthetist who went through a few screening questions for the sedation. I then went into the OR where Mike marked me up and took some photos. I then lay on the table and they put a cannula in my hand and then we were ready to start. The anaesthetist used midazolam and fentanyl for the sedation, which was regularly topped up throughout. They then instilled the local anaesethetic into my abdomen so I was numb inside. I've had sedation before so I knew what this was going to feel like, but essentially, the majority of the time, I felt nothing apart from some pressure. A few times I had a few sharp pains but that was it. I don't really remember a lot of the operation and time seemed to fly (the whole thing took 2.5 hours). I had to turn over at some point when they did my flanks. After they were done, I stayed on the table while the nurses put me into the foam 4D vest and the compression garment. They also dressed the wounds. I had two drains inserted into the suprapubic area.
I got up and walked out and left the clinic (my other half picked me up). On the way home in the car, the pain started. By the time we got home 2 horus later, I struggled to get out of the car. I have a fairly high pain threshold but this was like anything I had felt before. The inside of my stomach was tight with a deep muscular pain, as were my flanks. It took me 15 min to maek the usually 2 min walk from car to flat. I managed to eventually sit down at home but for a few hours felt nauseous and light headed. I had an early night but getting into bed was a struggle. I dosed myself up with painkillers but could only sleep on my back, lying very still. I didn't leak massively overnight, although I am wearing padding inside and have yet to take the garment off (I will do this later today). The pain 24 hours later is very slightly better but only just mangeable. Mike kindly called and advised that as this was hi-def the pain is often considerable and will settle down over next few days. The drains are due out in 72 hours, with a further follow up 7 days after surgery. I have an MLD booked fo rotmorrow (48 hr after surgery) as I simply can't manage one today. Let's hope the pain subsides soon!
