Oh Boy, What a Journey So Far

WORTH IT
Couple of months before my procedure I was reading all reviews here, thinking - that will be easy. I was super wrong. First three days I was miserable. And the photo of final result what doctor showed me right after the procedure, was keeping me sane. I really believe the ones who say it is easy have a very strong support system. I live alone. With my dog. I had my best friend staying with me for the first 4 days but she is kind of useless when it comes to the blood scenes from Carrie. So, yada yada yada...
On the day of procedure my only concern was a general anesthesia but they took into consideration all my concerns and made my experience with that very easy. When I woke up I was surrounded by everybody I met at the beginning. Warming me up, giving me tasty tea with honey and asking me a lot of questions. They gave me some pain medicine because I had a lot of pain in my upper abdomen and put me in my 'best friend' compression garment. Doctor came, said he removed 5 liters of fat and showed me a photo of the result. I have no clue how I got to the recovery room but there I was, chilling, having water, a tea and some cookies and my best friend showing up. After three hours I was free to go home. I was so uncomfortable. I didn't have so much pain as just soreness. But getting out of the bed, going to the bathroom, sitting down and standing up was a nightmare. I was sleeping half sitting. I couldn't really eat, I had no appetite, and the only thing I wanted was more and more water. The second day, I was allowed to take a shower. But I thought I will wait until noon. The doctor called to ask how I feel and if everything is OK, encourage me to walk more. I decided to take a shower after his call. Taking of the garment was not as bad as I have read and thought, and the shower felt good just... I got a lot of bleeding from one of my incisions. The blood was running down my tights, and all my white bathroom became a scene from Carrie.Anyhow, on the third day, I had my first MLM, which was... *RS Bleep* how painful for my right side, but really relaxing afterward. After that I had a doctors appointment. He was really pleased with a result, was looking and checking me like the best art project he's ever done. Anyhow, back home, went for a dinner out with my friend and the next day, we did a little, easy hike. Every day I can do more and more things - walk faster, bend over, sleep more comfortable, not to pray at my dog's poo. I have also became impatient because I want to see the end result.

Stay in your compression garment for many many weeks, even transitioning to a compression shirt later if it's more comfortable, if you have persistent hardness in certain areas go get lymphatic massage treatments
After three days you went on a hike and dinner? My worry is that what you described the first three days will last weeks and ill be bed ridden. when did it get better?
It took exactly one week to get rid of soreness. But I over did at 3 week bench and was back to the pain for a week. But I had my one month check up and doctor said everything is healing very well, and I should start doing some sports. I find stretching and some yoga very helpful
wow! how is the swelling and when did it get better? also is it easy to. live a normal life in the garment? thats what im very concerned about
I still get/have some swelling especially if I don’t drink enough water.
About the garment. I actually thought it will be tight and I will feel it but it was like a second skin. When I had to take it off for a shower or for a manual lymph massage, it felt very strange not to have it on. I think I was a bit worried regarding going to the bathroom at the beginning.
And when the doctor said I can stop wearing the garment, it took me quite a while to get used to be without it.
