So like many of you lovely people, I have researched the hell out of liposuction for my entire life, i have very large, long flanks and even at my smallest i still couldn't budge my flanks, i look like i don’t have a bum because of it.
SO this brings me to my research - i was looking for the latest techniques in liposuction and kept coming back to Cosmos Clinic.
The one thing to note is that these guys have social media down pat and are regularly updating with new and current before and afters WHICH i love ( i hate seeing the old, same, pictures on websites/instagram).
So there are a number of Cosmos clinics however i couldn't go passed Dr Joseph Ajaka and Dr Francesco's work, apart from the fact they did this procedure several times a week, there results were unreal!
(Seriously look them up on instagram - cosmosclinic, great pics!).
Ok so my story - It is me and my hubby's 10 year anniversary this year and (much like most people) work very hard and put my body second to my job.
So I really wanted to feel and look my best this year as a reward and what better way than getting a kick start!
Appointment October 2017:
I flew to Sydney and stayed the weekend and had an appointment starting with Dr Francesco who was so lovely and kind and really listened to what I wanted to achieve.
I told him i wanted the following areas:
Upper Abdomen
Lower Abdomen
Flanks
Upper back
Outside thighs
Arms
Now, this is a lot of areas and he did suggest that a BBL would look beautiful too (may as well use this fat for some good)! I laughed and said 'maybe next time' he said 'you won't have enough fat for next time!'.
Ummmm, biggest complement ever!!!!
God ok, so in walked Dr Joseph to talk and catch up, he seemed to be confirming Dr F's summary of what I wanted to achieve.
Dr J then said, hey there is a lovely lady in there getting a massage (oh yes they give you several lymphatic massages after the procedure to reduce the inflammation and to speed up the recovery process) and asked if i wanted to see her after the procedure.
My god, i was like hell yes! And he asked her of course if it would be ok if i came and talked to her which she said it was bless her.
I walk in and she was the sweetest lady, she was 3 days post op and had her drains in her stomach and was to scared to look at her results.
She looked amazing! Then and there i was so convinced that i needed this operation so I booked my surgery date that day!
I also payed for my garments ($550 per garment), however i am thinking that i will buy my second garment post operation after reading how people have changed and there second set/first set was to big and not compressing as well.
*There is a 7 day cooling off process where you can't pay for your 25% deposit which i think is the law but it's also to ensure that you are in the right mind frame.
After the 7 days, i payed for my deposit (mine was $3,875).
Today 01 March 2018:
So getting really excited about the surgery, i literally look at pictures everyday and read my post op checklist!
I will settle the final payment +5 days out from surgery and i'm also planning to get several face/neck treatments while there to (may as well go the full monty).
**NOTE: Cosmos clinic offers a lifetime 25% off of face and body treatments (like injectables and laser) to patient’s that have had Vaser with them. This is awesome!
There's one thing i will say - talking with my hubby, we don't invest enough time into our bodies and our appearance as we devote so much time (even weekends) to work.
If we did something like this every year to invest in ourselves even to give us a kick start or to boost our confidence then that is better then spending the same amount of money on an overseas holiday.
Just saying that together has really set our mind frame - we want to live and look the best versions of ourselves. So i’m really happy and proud to have his support.
I will give you all blow by blow updates on how the surgery goes (and with pics) and if you have any questions please let me know.

I'm also considering Cosmos. Can I ask what the breakdown in costs were? On their website, they state that costs start at $4,000. I'm assuming this is for one area. Is the abdomen one area, or do they charger for upper and lower separately. Finally, do you pay for follow up appointments? Sorry for all of the questions! Looking forward to reading your update :-)
April 5, 2018
Hey! It’s dependent on our size and the $4,000 is the first area with other areas being $2,000 as add ons. I got 6 areas in total which cost me $15,500. Yep you’re all over it - the upper and lower stomach are separate. So my breakdown was - first area $5,500 with the subsequent areas costing $2,000 each. All follow up appointments and massages are included - the staff are unbelievable I can’t say enough about them - if you go through cosmos it will feel like you’re family. keep the questions coming ha! ox

Hi! I just wanted to ask, is there a reason why you did the procedure 5 months after your consultation? Was that the first available date they had or did you choose to wait that amount of time?
April 10, 2018
Hey, there was appointments closer to when I first booked in - I wanted it done in March because of the Easter holidays and it was less time off that I needed to take. Also the garments are hot and you swell so I chose a time that was cooler to have the procedure done. I believe they have appointments around 2-3 months after your initial consultation.

Day of treatment

Not even 24hrs pot op and feeling great!

So went under yesterday just after 11:30am and I do remember bits and pieces of the procedure - I remember saying ‘ouch and this hurts’ but can’t remember any pain! The Drs just kept saying use your happy gas - not sure if that worked to well but the meds they put in the line certainly did! They put three drains in my stomach to drain as excess fluid (through belly button, and sides of bellow button).
One to note - I found It hard to pee and I think that more to do with the fact you’re ‘peeing with clothes on I.e - our garments) all good now and I’ve peed probably ten times since being home. I’m not hungry which is quite understandable but god am I craving a coffee.
Surgery took about 3-4 hours and. I was back to recovery I thought I was going to faint/be sick . While getting dressed to come home. I just lied down for another 10mins and it was all good.
I’ve been leaking like a siv and the lovely nurses wrapped me in the bed surgical cloths so that I wouldn’t leak all over the taxi/Uber. I did leak coming home and have multiple towels and hospital pads to soak up a left over.
Back today for first massage, I’ll keep you posted and update with pics!

Hi I hope you are feeling ok ? please keep us updated on your review I’m going in turkey to have fours areas done in May I’m so excited
April 5, 2018
Oh wow you are going to be so happy with your results!!! I’m sorry I’ve been slack with the progress pics (I’ll post some day 10 today). Feeling great after the op, days 3-4 were rough but you soon forget about those and you start seeing the results and it’s funny to say but your mind literally doesn’t understand/see the change but then you put clothes on and it’s like - oh this is way to big!

pls share your latest pics.... waiting to see the miracle
April 5, 2018
Ha I sure will! brushing and swelling is reducing but still really swollen in the lower abd, flanks and thighs ox
April 5, 2018
i am planing to do abdomen and luv handles post surgery is it painful
April 5, 2018
Hey, yes it’s painful post surgery - around days 2-7 to be really honest. For the first 1-2 days you still have local anesthetic in you to numb you but you are sore after that until about day 8. Nothing that’s not tolerable though, I was on only Panadol from day 2 until I found nuromol which was a god send but still only taking two a day. I would say it is more awkward than painful as you re in your compression garments 24/7 and you’re swelling. I would suggest getting it done in the cooler months so that you aren’t as hot moving around. ox

Hi! Do you know how much they took out of you?
UPDATED FROM lm_molloy

Day 10

lm_molloy
The Vaser went well and I can honestly say that I am loving the change in shape already.
To be honest - day 3 and 4 were the worst for me.
I shared a few tears and was stressed because I was not taking the endone they gave me because I was constipated and that was the worst thing more so than the surgery.
I took coloxyl which sorted it out in the end and now being on day 10 I am so much more mobile.
Me and hubby have been quite active 7,000 - 10,000 steps each day from day 5) but don’t be alarmed if you get really exhausted especially on days 3 - 5.
Swelling really peaked for me on days 6 - 8 and I am noticing that each day now I’m getting a lot more ‘flat’.
My mind hasn’t caught up though so I still think I’m a size 12 in tops (probably now an 8). I’ve been wearing harem pants (bonds does a great sort of trending type) and the bonus with them is the band is thin which you will be very thankful for, and just a t-shirt on top! total trend setter but my hubby reckons I look good ha.
Accom has been great! they have been so kind and taking care of us giving us flowers, sending food up when we were ruining their towels with leakage! Ask your surgeon for some extra medical towels for your bed and anywhere you sit.
The leakage was an issue for me from days 1 - 6. I was embarrassed to wrap myself in those medical towels but you get over it pretty quick! lots of water and rest. I started using sanitary pads when the leakage was getting less (days 5 - 7) on the outside of my garment.
If you’re staying in accommodation, I would suggest you get a pick up drop off service for your laundry (I think they are like $14) on days 1 - 4 you will feel pretty gross so that’s the best bet!
The big part from me was my emotions - I was crying and upset and I can’t explain why on days 3-4. I have read lots of people saying the same thing. Not to sure if it’s because you have to stop and repair and do very little - for me, that was really hard as I’m usually working 6 days a week in a mentally stressful job so to not have that mental challenge was har for me.
Day 10 and I’m numb and bruises are going down - I will post my day 2 pics and day 10 pics today (sorry for the lag!!!)

Thanks for the updates and pics. I had the procedure a few days ago and I'm keen to hear how you go with the feeling coming back in the numb areas, and how smooth and symmetrical the results are. I am so over all the leaking!!
April 16, 2018
ha the leaking.... ohhhhh the leaking!!! I have pretty much all my feeling back from numbness bad my hips. They are still numb which is completely normal. I get the odd zing or zap but mainly on my sides - I was told that the side of your body is where most of your nerve endings are so they will be the areas that you get ‘zapped’ the most. I’m really impressed with the symmetry and the smoothness of my skin - there is more ace tissue coming through now and you just need to check your body on a daily to massage these out. Let me know how you’re tracking! The leaking will be over soon trust me - you will be one happy person when it stops! still tender all over especially at night time but nothing to dramatic to take painkillers for. Hope I’ve helped!
