Tumescent liposuction (inner & outer thighs, flanks, abdomen)

Post Op Day 1

Three words: leaking is real!
I knew with tumescent liposuction to expect a lot of leaking but this was no joke.
But I'm getting ahead of myself ;-)
Pre-Op Day 1:
I arrived on Wednesday in Prague and spent the afternoon trying to distract myself, but the time moved so slowly.
I had a small refrigerator in the hotel room, so I stocked up on joghurt and fruit for post-op.
I didn't sleep well at all, and dreamt not once but TWICE that I had liposuction on the wrong areas, haha.
Surgery Day:
Yesterday I came to the clinic at 8h for my blood test and to sign the release forms.
A couple hours later I met with the surgeon and we went over the areas together.
We settled on inner and outer thighs, lower abdomen, and flanks.
Then I had another couple hours to wait, so I went out for a walk. Sitting around was driving me nuts.
Once I went back for surgery, things went pretty quick.
I changed into those disposable paper underwear, socks, and a gauzy robe/dress.
The nurse was lovely, and she set me up with an antibiotic and chatted with me until the Dr came.
He explained tumescent liposuction to me, and then it was time to go.
The tumescent fluid filling part was the strangest feeling. I felt like a water balloon getting filled beyond capacity. After he had 1 Litre of fluid in my abdomen it looked like I was several months pregnant.
In all I have 10 incisions for the 4 areas. After each area was filled up with fluid (I think like 4,5 L) he started with the liposuction. There were some parts where the canula went to an area that hadn't been numbed, but he added a little more fluid and it was fine. I propped myself up on my elbows so I could watch, but I'm odd, maybe other people don't find it so cool? I think the entire surgery took just under 2 hours. There were 1,35 L of fat overtop about 0,5 L of pink tumescent fluid removed.
Putting on the compression garment was pretty funny, it took me and two nurses fighting against the leaking fluid to get it up over my legs.
After I got my street clothes back on, I signed one last form (release to fly) and left. The clinic sent me off with a few mattress pads, steri-strips, a mini rolling pin to massage, and tablets (antibiotic, pain pills, and anti-swelling).
I had about a 10 minute walk back to my hotel, and I honestly felt almost normal, except for some tightness in one outer thigh.
I realised quickly once back in my hotel room that even though I was pretty well prepared for leaking onto the sheets, I forgot to think about the blanket. The garment was already soaked through from about my belly button down to my knees, so even with more clothes over top, I left pink stains on everything I touched.
I ended up turning up the heat and using one of the mattress pads as a sheet.
Nevertheless, I couldn't sleep. Partly I just wasn't tired, even though I hadn't slept well the night before, and I was also worried about rolling off the pads and getting bloody-looking fluid all over the hotel bed.
By midnight I was homesick for my own bed (and my own blanket) and I was happy I'd decided to only spend the first night post-op in Prague before flying home.
Post-Op Day 1:
By 6 I had stopped trying to sleep. I washed out my shirt and underwear for the 2nd time - so much fluid! But the leaking had mostly stopped by morning.
I'm still taking the pain pill every 6 hours as directed, so the pain isn't bad at all. It feels like really bad bruises. Honestly the worst part is changing position. Standing up, it takes me a few seconds to straighten up my torso all the way. And yes, my pubic region is a bit swollen and starting to bruise.
I leaked a little bit more on the plane this afternoon, and then again when I took the garment off to shower.
And oh! The joy of taking it off and showering! The dried fluid made the garment stiff and itchy, and the still-wet fluid made it cold.
I did manage to take some pics with and without the garment. The majority of the swelling right now seems to be lower down on my stomach and on the insides of my thighs.
Now I'm relaxing in my clean and dry garment, I ate a nice homemade lentil soup (very lightly salted) and I'm hoping I'll be able to sleep through the night.

T-4 days update (with pics)

About me:
I´m at a healthy weight for my height (22.5 BMI)
I work out 5 to 6 days a week, 40 minutes of cardio followed by weight training. I heavily limit my intake of breads, pastas, and potatoes... but unfortunately have a weak spot for sweets :-(
Leading up to the surgery, I am trying to work on reducing my sugar, as I know limiting simple carbohydrates will be an area of my diet I will have to seriously focus on if I want to see great results.
Especially as I´ve gotten "older" (yes, I know... I am in my 20s) my problem areas become more and more stubborn, even with a pretty good diet and good fitness.

I bought some of the things recommended on RS:
-arnica tablets c30
-paracetamol 500mg (I think that´s called tylenol some places)
-some loose-fitting track pants for post-op
-mattress pads

As I will be travelling by plane for this procedure, if anyone has tips for keeping the "leaking" at bay during travel, please let me know! Having nightmares of seeping tumescent fluid onto a plane seat *shudder*

I took some pictures as part of my consultation in mid January, uploading them now along with new pictures from today.
Based on the pictures the doctor recommended inner thigh, hip, and upper & lower abdomen.

ORIGINAL POST

26F: Tumescent Liposuction (Inner Thighs, Hips, Abdomen)

I've idly daydreamed about liposuction for many years, but up until this point I haven’t had the guts (or the disposable income) to follow through with it.
The main area for me is my inner thighs, but I figured I would keep an open mind to the surgeon’s suggestions in the consultation.
After doing some research, I settled on the Formé Clinic in Prague, as it has an excellent reputation and reasonable pricing.
TBH I’m pretty astounded as to how quickly the process has gone so far - I reached out to the clinic on 12 Jan and received my date today.
At this point I’m going to try to not think about it too much… the procedure is less than a month away but I’m sure it will still feel like ages.
I’ll keep updating this in the coming weeks!
