2nd Tx (of 6)
A few days after the 1st session, the hot, tender lump on my right saddlebag became so painful that I couldn't massage it, didn't exercise or even go for walks for 2 or 3 days. Pulling my waistband up and down was almost unbearable. All I could do to help flush the lymphatics was hydrate and live in my compression leggings being as I couldn't exercise.... so of course that meant frequently pulling my waistband up and down. O joy.
A week after my first tx, the lump had mostly recovered! Redness almost all gone, but still tender and hard.
My aesthetician reassured me I was ready for another combination of Velashape and Vanquish insisting it would even help heal the remaining tender lump, and she was so right!
My 2nd tx was practically a breeze. I had a mild hot spot in my lumpy area two or three times, but I pointed my toes, stretching my leg, and it passed in seconds! The session was warming, with the most subtle vibrating sensation. Easy!
A day later, the lump is almost totally gone! I am noticing smoother, tighter skin, even a little bit of a slimming effect already! I am feeling very optimistic about these treatments!

Vanquish: Painful but Promising!
I found an awesome aesthetic center and master aesthetician who is attacking my saddlebags and butt/thigh cellulite with a combo of Vanquish and VelaShape over 6 weekly treatments. Total program cost is approximately $2100.
I have had one treatment so far and plan to update my review as I go along. I will post photos of before and after when all done.
I am starting with reviewing Vanquish because I have had side effects --which are supposedly rare-- already after only one treatment. The aesthetician I have is AMAZING and she is attentively communicating with me regarding this side effect.
PREP:
(1) 71 - 96 oz water a day beginning the day before the first treatment and throughout the course
(2) exfoliate and shave areas to be treated the day before
(3) Increase exercise: yoga/strength exercises 3 to 4 times a week and walking the other days, appx. 45 minutes each
(4) Massage: Velashape immediately following each treatment and of sore areas periodically at home
TREATMENT:
During the first treatment, my aesthetician warned me that at about 10 minutes in, I would probably experience a hot spot, and it would probably get painful, but subside eventually. She also noted it would probably be on my right side because that thigh measured a larger circumference than the left (which she also told me is common before even measuring me, haha- she clearly is experienced, which is so comforting)! The treatment began and was seriously so comfortable --even therapeutic-- until 10 minutes in, I got a painful hot spot in the right hip area just as she predicted. She turned on fans and that helped a little. I just sucked it up.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER:
Velashape! (That will be a separate review)
I felt sore there and a few blisters displayed in the region of the hotspot. It felt like a sore bruise the next 35 hours. I seriously feel a little slimmer already! I went on a 45 min brisk walk that night and did yoga the next morning.
36 HOURS AFTER:
The blisters are healing, but the sore area near my right saddlebag that began as a hot spot in treatment and started feeling like a bruise after, has now become a palm-sized red, warm, raised, hard lump that is mildly painful at all times, moderately with movement, and severe with palpating pressure. From what I have read of other patients on this site, this is an uncommon but expected side effect. I am attempting to massage the area a little (quite painful), drinking over 84 oz, and continuing the daily exercise. My aesthetician is confident this will resolve and told me to hold off on anything that causes more pain but to push the fluids. I assume we will skip treating this area until the pain is gone.
I am still excited this is likely to produce excellent results! More to come later!
