I just turned 38 and looking to improve the lax skin I was starting to notice as well as some texture issues and fine lines. I went in for a free consulation at a local laser and skin care clinic and the RN/owner recommended Thermage CPT and fraxel (or a series of peels). She spoke very positively about the Thermage and assured me I would love the results. After reading all of the negative reviews online, I called the clinic a couple of days prior to my appt. to address the concerns I had. The provider reassured that it was the old technology (which she did not use) because it was so painful for the patient. She assured me the new CPT gives excellent results and without pain, also noting not one of her patients were unhappy with the results. She had even had the procedure herself. I decided to move forward. Had my full face and neck done. The only pain was a split second right along the nerve in my jawline and another area on my neck. It was not "omg, make this stop pain", just a little zinger. I found it very helpful that the Tech talked me throught the entire procedure, explaining what she was doing and why. Also she was very aware of any areas where I might experience discomfort and she made adjustments accordingly.

My skin was not red at all after the procedure and I was surprised at the virtual lack of pain. I sat up when half my face was done and could definitly notice a difference in tightness right away. The next day, I really notice under my chin and jawline is much, much tighter. I am looking forward to seeing progress in the coming months. I'm not saying I notice a drastic change right now after only a day but my skin is tighter. I will keep posting on my progress. I hope I have made the right decision. It was scary to take that leap despite all of the negative press about Thermage. The difference for me was an experienced technician with positive reviews. I did my research and she was very confident in the procedure and what I could expect from the outcome. Time will tell.

If I do see the results that I am expecting, I will be going back for Thermage on my buttocks and stomach.

I'm really interested to hear what changes you see. Hopefully they will be great ones! Is it looking like your skin is going to peel at all, or does it just feel tight?
