Hi I'm am new to the group. Thank you to all the brave women sharing their stores. I am scheduled to have my explant in November. I have had mild illness I think may be due to my 12 year old implants. The worst symptom is my chronic insomnia that has been going on for 7 years. I also have gluten sensitivities, dairy sensitivities, cold feet, I had anxiety in the past but seem better once I took gluten out of my diet. I suffer mild brain fog as well. Like not being able to remember street names or names of people I just me. That being said some people are trying to scare/help I don't know about not having my capsules removed. I want to do the least invasive procedure possible but still get better.
Has anyone had explant done leaving capsules in and still found relief from their illnesses caused by Brest implants?

I think with the ailments you're having you should definitely remove all traces of the silicone from your body. I know it's a tough choice. I think better to get it all out bc if you don't you may always wonder if it's causing health problems, etc. kinda like the way my implants feel- like a ticking time bomb inside my body! I'm removing after a year and a half due to very bad results, aesthetically and causing a ton of pain and discomfort. I don't have health problems that I think are caused from the implants, but I am wishing you the best luck in making an informed choice. I can't wait to be free of these things! Hoping you feel much better soon!

I just had my implants removed under local today. My amazing Dr. did everything I asked and made me feel so cared for and comfortable. He removed my 13 year old saline implants under local in tact. They were clear and in perfect condition and my capsule was thin and translucent. I did not feel any pain other than the Lidocaine prick. I felt tugging and pushing as he took them out whole without puncturing them. I was worried about mold but there was no evidence of any mold. He also washed inside me with fluid that would Kill any bacteria that could be present. I felt fine afterward just a bit emotional. MY poor little boobs look like raisins. I so mad I ever did this to myself to begin with but hey I loved having big boobs as a young woman in SoCal... I am so happy I listened too my instincts to just remove them under local as a few individuals were scaring me into a complete en bloc removal. I'm so glad I didn't torment my body any more than I needed to. It has been very emotional today as I feel sad and deformed at this point. I will be focusing on my health and fitness and give my poor little boobs time to heal. If anyone is considering taking out their implants I would recommend it. It truly is a weight off my chest...

Thank you for sharing your story! I have just started the process of consulting with a few plastic surgeons about having my implants removed. Now that I've finally decided to do it, I can't wait! And your comment about having a weight taken off your chest is perfect!

After a year of deliberation I have removed my 13 year old Saline breast implants under local anesthesia. It was a simple procedure. I was given Valium to take before hand and numbed for the actual procedure. I was not in pain during and very little pain after. I was able to just take Tylenol and return to my normal life within 3 days after. My dr was able to removed my implants whole as I was worried there could be contamination. There was no contamination and my implants were in tact and healthy. As to be expected my skin is quite saggy after removal but it has only been a few days. I feel good and am ready to move on with my new body. I had them removed because I have not slept well in 7 years and was generally uncomfortable with the implants.

How are you healing? I'm having my Saline Implants removed under local next week. A bit nervous but I didn't want to do general anesthesia unless it was needed. In my case I had an option as the capsule is thin. Can you elaborate on the recovery part? How long did you have to wear the ace bandage and how soon did you start wearing sports bra. I'm a bit confused how long compression needs to be used for as my dr said only a few days.

My recovery went great. I was driving the same day. Usually was tired by the afternoon but overall pretty easy. I only wore the surgical bra my dr gave me. They did not put it on super tight. It was a size large and I currently wear a 34 B bra. Results have been good. The first few weeks I had deflated bags but now my breasts look pretty normal and it's only been 1.5 months. If they didn't change any more I'd still be thrilled with the results. The surgery was a breeze. No pain. I took 2 Valium prior to surgery, they numbed my with lidocaine during procedure and I only took Tylenol for pain after. I waited about two weeks to start excersising. I still. Ostlynwear absports bra or tank top with bra built in. I'm so in love with my itty bitties ... hope this helps

Thank you for posting your inspiring story. How is your health and are you sleeping better? I have the same dilemma trying to decide whether to explant only or with capsulectomy.

Did he remove the capsules? I am looking to see him for my ex plant surgery and want the capsule removed as well.
