I've wanted these procedures done for quite some...
Provider Review
In Britain, we're often told that we do more research on our bathroom tiles than we do when selecting a cosmetic surgeon. I made that mistake once when I had a poor outcome from primary and revision rhinoplasty surgery. With regard to my nose, I didn't do much research on the doctor or hospital at the time but when I decided on Dr Wittenberg, a lot of thought went into my decision in selecting him. We obviously have excellent doctors in the UK but I didn't think anyone here had/has as much experience in jaw and facial contouring like doctors in North America. I was researching doctors in the US but then came across Dr Wittenberg. He seems to be one of a very few surgeons who actually answers people's questions on this site - take a look at his answers compared to other doctors. Anyway, I decided to get in contact with his office and explained what I wanted to have done. I agreed on sliding genioplasty, jaw line implants and jaw angle implants (all goretex). I went back at the end of April 2016 to get cheek implants (silicone). I feel I'm still in the healing phase so will give things a year or so to settle down. When I agreed on the procedures with his office, they provided an all inclusive quote and I paid and they confirmed my surgery date. His helpful staff (Sarah in particular) was my main point of contact and very responsive. They arranged all of my hotel stay and a nurse/carer for after the operation. The hotel is literally opposite his offices where the surgery took place. I have to cut this review short unfortunately as I'm sitting in an airport lounge writing this and need to catch my flight now; but I will answer questions if people have any. Before I go, a bit about the surgery and recovery:- All surgery went great and I took the meds and mouthwash as recommended. Very little pain or discomfort (cheek implants were surprisingly simple). Massive jaw swelling but that's expected. I was paranoid about keeping my mouth clean and did as much as I humanly could to avoid any infection. I did drink a bit too much alcohol at times and regretted it the following day if I'd forgotten to brush my teeth etc. One of the best outcomes is the amount of weight I lost as I couldn't open my mouth properly for some time, I was restricted to baby food/protein shakes etc. Overall, I am very happy with the outcomes I've had. I couldn't actually see or realise the dramatic changes but when I've seen family and friends whom I've not seen in months or years they cannot stop staring at my cheekbones or sculpted jawline. So for that, I'm grateful to Dr Wittenberg, gotta go...
