Getting a Rhinoplasty Was One of the Best Decisions I Made. - Vancouver, BC

I've never really been a huge fan of my nose. While it wasn't terrible, there were aspects I didn't like, mainly my droopy tip when I smiled and the slight hump. After my sister had her rhinoplasty with Dr. Buonassisi almost 3 years ago, it became something I started thinking about. As the years past, I still thought about it more, and became more and more passionate about it. I always wanted a natural rhinoplasty, just to refine the features I wasn't too fond of, but never to look like I've had plastic surgery.
After finally discussing it with my mom and turning 20, I knew it was something that I really did want. Since my sister had amazing results with Dr. Buonassisi and so have some of my friends, I knew that I wanted to have him perform my rhinoplasty as well.
After booking a consultation, I was able to go in to see him 2 weeks later. I got pictures taken by his staff and we started the consultation. Dr. Buonassisi was very friendly and asked me what I wanted to refine on my nose. He showed me photo editing which was a really great way to see what I wanted and didn't want. He asked me different questions about why I wanted the surgery, explained how the surgery is performed, and helped me make an informed decision on the type of anesthesia I wanted during surgery. I ended up booking the surgery a couple of days later for December, while I had a break from school. His staff were very prompt with replying to my emails and my questions, so I felt very taken care of.
I was so excited leading up to it; I didn't really feel like it was real...that was until the night before! The day of the surgery was nerve-wracking, but the team at Delbrook Surgical Centre were great and Dr. Buonassisi came and reviewed my surgery plan before we went into the operating room. While the thought of twilight anesthesia scared me-being possibly awake during surgery, albeit in a sleepy state, I was so happy that I didn't choose general. The surgery took about an hour, and I didn't feel anything! I went home an hour later, looking all puffy, and went to rest. I felt some aching and dull pain for the first few days, but the painkillers definitely helped. I was also on antibiotic for a week. The recovery process seems like it will take forever, and I did look like a beaten up chipmunk for about 2 weeks, but after that, you would never have been able to guess that I had just had surgery.
A week later, I went back to Dr. Buonassisi's office to remove my cast. It was super exciting to get my cast off and finally see my new, although swollen, nose. Despite all the swelling, I could still see the changes and was already pleased.
I was booked in for a 2 month post-op appointment and went on with my life with my new nose. What I love is that no one knows! I feel more confident because I don't feel like my nose is leading me, but rather that it's just a feature on my nose that was always there. It looks natural and my friends who do know always compliment me on it. While it's still sore and I can see it change slightly often as the swelling goes down, I have only positive things to say about the whole experience and have had no regrets.
Dr. Buonassisi gave me exactly what I wanted; a natural looking nose that I can feel good about. I've had a great experience with him, the surgical centre, and his staff over the last few months. I was able to make a decision on what was best for my face, and am so happy with my choice to get rhinoplasty.
