When I met Dr. B, he showed me all the procedures that were available and decided which one would be best for me. He showed me the results I could expect and was very realistic in what the outcome would be. I am so happy to say, the result was even better!!!! I no longer think about my chin, I hold my head up high, I don't have to take pictures from above (you girls know what I mean), I can wear crew neck tees, I have an amazing profile and I finally, after 22 years, look on the outside how I feel on the inside.
The only thing I wish I knew beforehand was to have more patience with the healing process. I wanted to be fully healed after a month, but I'm 6 months post surgery and still have a little numbness and lumpiness that I'm waiting to go away. The pain is pretty intense for the first week, but after that, not bad at all, just some tightness. I took Ativan before the procedure which I recommend. It would've been nice to be completely sedated for the procedure, but I knew it was something that I wanted badly and because it wasn't that long I was able to endure it. But yes, Ativan is your friend :)
I look back now and with the results I've gotten, with how this has changed my life, I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! Dr. B is an absolute artist, he will never know what he has done for me... Every time I see myself in a picture now, I no longer see my horrible double chin that imprisoned me for so many years. I see my big eyes, I see my gleaming white smile, I see... ME... finally :)
Provider Review
I went for my consultation in Dec, I could've had the procedure done a couple months later (It takes longer to get a dental appointment in some cities) but I chose to do it when I had vacation time. Everything was explained to me fully, and if I had any questions I could email and they would respond to me that day. I chose Dr. B simply by researching him on the internet. He was located semi-close to home, he's board certified, he's not only and ENT but also part of the respirology department at Lions Gate Hospital (possibly head of the department?) he had good comments on Rate My MD, and to be honest, a very kind face and good teeth :) After meeting him for the first time, I found he put me at ease, was nonchalant but not flippant, was funny but very professional as well. His staff is excellent. I never felt judged or pressured. His office was very clean and private. I felt very comfortable with everything and everyone. All in all, the best experience I could ask for. Dr. B is a warm, charming, funny, talented surgeon and I would I would feel completely confident in recommending him to anyone who wants to change something about themselves. His staff is super supportive, relate-able, friendly, and always very prompt in responding to emails or phone calls. It was absolutely worth every penny and the only downside is... I wish I'd done it sooner!!!!
