Happy 1 month boobiversary to me :)
I survived the first month and I do have something to say.
I know I have not updated my status since day 1 post-op. Part of it is time (or lack thereof) and part of it is because I hadn’t had the energy to do so.
So here’s a good summary of how well/not so well with how I was coping:
Day 1-2: Felt like a zombie and don't remember much. I remember sleeping a lot and just floating, popping those pain meds like candies.
Day 3-7 post-op:
It was probably the roughest part of healing. I walked around like hunchback of the Notredame, the tightness was extreme and if you’ve breast fed before – it is true that your boobs felt like they were engorged, except they were engorged FOREVER! Sleeping was very difficult, I had to sleep sitting up the whole time (actually up until recently I was able to sleep flat on the side). Whenever I turn slightly to the right or left, it felt like the implants are sliding and going to come off! So that freaked me out abit. Morning boobs were really bad. Oh the stiffness, I woke up feeling so sore and exhausted from the pain. I couldn’t hold nor hug my kids which probably was the hardest part. I’m such a hugger and I was feeling all kinds of guilt for being so selfish and letting this happened. On the 3rd day I saw my PS and he said they are exactly how they’re suppose to look on the 3rd day (which was high and ridiculous:P). But he was very reassuring and wonderful. He must’ve seen the despair on my face, he said to me “You will feel they are a part of you sooner than you think. Just have a little faith” which made me smile. He showed me the massage techniques and to start massaging on day 6. Came day 6, I couldn’t do it, they were still so sore and I couldn’t bare to inflict that much pain to myself. So I waited a week, I started on day 13. I took a week off
Day 7-10:
Back at work. Things were getting a little better somewhat, this was a “one step forward two steps back” kind of phase. I had moments where I felt... Finally! Not as painful anymore, but then there were moments of “Oh that’s a new pain? Never felt that before.” Mostly pertaining to nerve pains – shooting/sharp pains/tingles all of which I’ve been warned before so I wasn’t worried. My ribcage was very sore, I wasn’t able to stand up straight and still a bit hunched. My incision sites started to hurt though, more so than before. And my left side is worse than my right. Morning boobs were still bad. Ugh.
Day 10-14:
This is when I was finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. One morning I woke up with a much less morning boobs pain, I was bracing myself for the pain but then suddenly I realized, it wasn’t as painful anymore. Yay! I was still sleeping slightly prepped up (not completely flat) because I found that my morning boobs was worse when I had slept flat on my back, still wasn’t able to sleep on my sides.
My rib cage pain was slowly getting less and less and I finally noticed my implants had slightly dropped. I started massaging on day 13 and at first I was very afraid of putting much pressure at all as I was afraid of the pain, but within 24 hours I was obsessed with massaging as that was the ONLY thing that helped with the heaviness and stiffness. Massaging to me relieved the pain considerably.
Day 14-30:
This is when the times just flew by as I started to feel more like myself, my range of motion has improved a lot, I can do things a lot quicker and can carry my 2 year old (but I try not to) as the doctor said to wait till 6 weeks. I can feel my boobs being pulled (especially around the stitches) when I carry heavy things, so I didn’t do it unless it’s absolutely necessary. At around 3 weeks mark I started to sleep slightly to the side instead of on my back. Btw, I still can’t feel anything on the bottom half of my boobs and my top part is itchy as hell.
Day 30: Had my 1 month appointment with my PS, he’s so great I really love him. When I saw his rating I thought it’s almost too good to be true, but he IS that great. He lives up to his reviews for sure! I’m so lucky to have him as my PS. He said that my boobs look great, they’ve dropped abit and will drop some more in the next few months. I had questions about the incision sites how they looked pulled in, he said not too worry they will subside and relax overtime. I also asked him about capsular contracture just in general as this thing freak me out (as to others too for sure!) and I want to know more about it. He said it usually happens early (4-6 mths) or much later (when the implants start to deteriorate) - So if nothing happens in the first 4-6 months it is highly unlikely that you'll get it until much later down the track.
Anyway, he also said that it’s time for me to get some new bras. Yay!! I was so giddy with excitement that I went straight to the PS recommended lingerie shop afterwards and bought myself a few bras :) No more ugly surgical bras! When I looked at the sizes they brought for me: 30 F?? Are you f*cking kidding me?? (in a good way). I was grinning from ear to ear:D This is a girl who could not fill up an A cup, and now I have a 30 F in my hands? After a few tries, we settle with 30 DD/E and I'm still OK with that ;)
Overall, although I couldn’t say the same thing 2 weeks ago, I’m very happy with the results now. These things take time and patience, in which when you're in the thick of it, it's hard to see the big picture. I’m glad I followed through, and hopefully I could help some of the women here who are having doubts about getting breast implants or having trouble healing. I know I’ve still got a long way to go, but I’m not in the same place as I was 1 month ago.

Yay for the improvements over the 30 days!! I am thrilled that you are happy with your size, and I cant wait to see how they progress as time goes on!! Once I have my boobs you should be at a nice place as far as dropping and fluffing go. Cant wait to see
Thanks! I'm very excited for you, I remember the feelings leading up to surgery and how I couldn't believe I followed through with it. I'm sure they will look great and you'll be happy with them. Not too far now, November can't come sooner :)
Looking good!! And so happy to hear you are doing much better now :)
Cute bras, are they from Change?

Hi Anna! Thanks for helping me throughout the tough times:) You rock!
Yes I got them from Change, have you been there? The one just a couple of blocks from Dr. P? I find the owner is all about sales sales sales, so she kept on giving me the most expensive bras to try on and kept on pushing me to choose them even though I didn't feel as comfortable with them which kind of [RS bleep] me off. But there's this young lady- Hannah who works there and she's awesome.
Btw, did you bra size change from 1 month post-op to 4+ months later??

Day 1 Post -op
Well Surgery went quite well. Felt quite nauseaous when I woke up but nothing major. My chest felt super heavy and tight right after surgery yesterday. So far the pain so a lot less than I had anticipated, just mainly stiffness and tightness that's about it. I find they look a lot worse than how I actually feel. For anyone who have had a C-section in the past, I find this is nowhere near as bad, especially when you're diligent with your pain meds and antibiotics. Let's hope that this is all there is as far as pain goes. Aesthetically, they don't look so great right now, I feel that they are not big enough at this point. But I know the road to recovery is still a long way and I hope they will look better soon.
P.S I got 375cc Smooth round silicon gel implants.

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 8am. Eeek....
My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 8am. Eeek... I'm absolutely terrified but no turning back now :P It took me years to finally bite the bullet and make the appointment. The waiting itself to see my PS was almost 1 year (booked the appointment on Nov 2014). I was so excited until now when it's getting really close to the crunch time I became so nervous all of the sudden. I've been reading a lot of your stories here and it's comforting to see such great support, so I thought I'd write one myself hoping to help me ease the anxiety a bit:) wish me luck.
